Program Overview

Funded by Immigration Refugees Citizenship of Canada (IRCC), Newcomer Pathways into Skilled Trades pilot project will prepare internationally experienced skilled trades individuals for the Trade Equivalency Assessment (TEA). The project will support them every step of the way as they gain the Red Seal or Certificate of Qualifications they need to start working in Ontario.

We’re looking for someone who will:

• Assist location staff with all administrative and other related duties as needed
• Manage the intake of skilled trades candidates, coordinate recruitment and referrals, and screen referrals for appropriate programs; understand the flow of client activities
• Assess clients for program suitability based on established program eligibility and suitability criteria
• Assist clients in the use of online resources and technology for job search activities
• Assist with organizing events, outreach activities, etc
• Inform potential clients and referral partners about JVS Toronto programs and services available at the location; answer questions with knowledge
• Assist with organizing appointments, workshops, events, outreach activities; communicate with clients and referring agencies
• Other duties as assigned
• Support Employment Specialists in the delivery of other one-on-one and group Employment Services activities
• Set up, maintain and file client records in ICARE, Salesforce and other relevant databases as required. Generate program reports and assist with analysis, including tracking and checking for accuracy
• Join Newcomer Pathways into Skilled Trades team to conduct client intake

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• High school education; Diploma or Certificate in Administration preferred
• Excellent administrative, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
• Work or training experience in a technical trade is an asset.
• Able to work independently, seek out new information, engage in self-directed learning and make the connections necessary to effectively support program participants
• Computer literate with the ability to learn systems used by the agency (ICare, SalesForce etc.)
• A clear Police Vulnerable Sector check is required for this position
