Acushnet Canada Inc. has an exciting full-time opportunity for a FootJoy National Account Manager.
Position Summary:
The National Account Manager is accountable for developing and maintaining relationships with the company’s key and National Accounts, ensuring a longer-term strategic plan is developed and maintained alongside profitable sales growth.
This role is responsible for developing productive long-term relationships with customers, acting as a main contact for all things relating to the Key Account base, reaching sales targets, implementing a business focused sales strategy, preparing volume forecasts and plans, and closely cooperating with other departments involved with the Key Accounts.
Primary Responsibilities:
National Sales Management
- Communicate with the sales team on our progress at Golf Town and ClubLink keeping them tethered/engaged with any upcoming initiatives. Coordinate rep feedback from Golf Town and ClubLink store visits.
- Manage stock levels across all product ranges and ensure all aspects of their business with FJ are running smoothly and all sales opportunities are being fully optimized.
- Drive sales and share gains with the following customers: Golf Town, FGL, Walmart, Canadian Tire, ClubLink, Amazon, Global Golf and Golf Avenue.
- Conduct/assist in product presentations. Arrange and conduct the sell-in of new ranges across all categories, including working with the Product Manager and Brand Manager on SMU product.
Corporate Sales
- Participate in development of annual corporate business plans.
- Develop and maintain corporate products market information and competitive profiles, including product overviews, pricing, and sales programs.
- Effectively sell and service FJ products to assigned corporate accounts.
- Build strong relationships with key customers leadership and their sales organizations with the objective of identifying and developing corporate sales opportunities.
- Ensure product knowledge is delivered to all accounts on an ongoing basis.
Forecasting and Analysis
- Utilize reporting tools for National Accounts (i.e., SPS, Vendor Central, Retail link, Vendor gateway) to deliver reporting to the senior leadership team, forecasting, analyzing sell through, building replenishment recommendations, phase out planning and assortment planning.
- Ensure monthly forecasts are being consumed completely. Work with the National Account Coordinator and product teams to ensure orders are being processed and we have the inventory in the DC to deliver our national accounts monthly forecasts.
- Competitive analysis: shares, SMU, pricing, promotional strategies.
- Attend forecasting meetings to agree to correct stock levels for the business to ensure we have the products our national accounts need to reach and exceed sales targets.
- Weekly analysis of sell through and inventory levels helping us to identify how we’re doing in each product category, identify top 10 and bottom 10 sellers, identify sales opportunities, identify potential inventory risks.
- Keep the senior management team informed of the National Account progress against plan and also provide forecasts to be used for MMF and Business Planning as well as informing the team of any issues of a strategic nature.
Sales Merchandising
- Work with Brand Manager, product team and marketing team on in store presence for all FJ product categories and key launches.
- Coordinate with product team and marketing team to ensure our national accounts have product, marketing assets and web copy to powerfully launch new FJ products and that we are being prominently featured in their advertising campaigns.
- Measure success/ challenges of any promotions we run with National Accounts to help refine our promotional strategy.
Position Requirements and Skills:
Experience
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills; excellent analytical skills and a basic understanding of retail accounting principles.
- The ideal candidate will be a dedicated golfer with an affinity for the FJ brand.
- A minimum of five years of professional sales experience, preferably in the golf or sporting goods industry.
- A relevant university bachelor’s degree is required (business or marketing preferred).
Business Planning
- Ability to set/reset priorities and focus on what will drive the business forward while effectively managing time and balancing multiple projects against varying deadlines.
- Identifies and resolves problems effectively and in a timely manner. A demonstrated ability to approach problems with a solution-oriented focus. Generates creative solutions.
- Proven ability to build a 3-5 year strategic plan with key customers to drive sales growth, improved profitability, and shares gains.
- Well-developed planning skills with the proven ability to turn strategies into actionable plans.
- Proven ability to analyze and use sales data for ad hoc reporting, build an archive of historical performance, provide recommendations on product assortment, SMU, refine promotional strategies, provide feedback to product, sales, and marketing teams

Communication
- Has well-honed interpersonal and communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Strong presentation skills and a proven ability to sell ideas.
This role requires extensive travel primarily in the GTA area, to service assigned accounts and achieve sales objectives. Out of town travel is required service to assigned accounts across Canada and to attend company sales meetings.
