Continual Energy Inc. provides turn-key design and execution of highly efficient mechanical systems utilizing cutting edge technology and software. Our multi-disciplinary team provides hands-on exposure to mechanical design, software development (including machine learning, artificial intelligence, and optimization), controls deployment, energy modeling, and research and development. Continual has 5 major divisions that work together to provide complete solutions to our customer:
-Design and construction of large central heating and cooling plants utilizing the latest heat pump technology.
-Zero Carbon system design for new buildings or decarbonization of existing buildings utilizing the latest heat pump technology.
-Commercial/industrial controls and automation.
-Building analytics.
-Professional services.
Candidate will be working in a team environment, reporting directly to the Principal or Team Lead. The project-based workload is highly detail-oriented, requiring execution of exact processes to meet deadlines and scheduling requirements. Candidate will be required to learn, develop, and maintain new skills and balance multiple tasks while focusing on the completion of the projects. The role is client facing and the ideal candidate would be comfortable hosting project team meetings.

Core Responsibilities:
- Perform duties and responsibilities from the Continual’s Toronto, Ontario office. Travel may be required from time-to-time as directed by the Company.
- Prepare technical specifications including input received from other project disciplines.
- Participate in the Continual’s research and development activities for future products and/or projects.
- Carry out engineering calculations pertaining to heating/cooling loads, hydraulics, and system analysis.
- Contribute to technical memos and reports.
- Prepare 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proficiency with thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and psychrometrics.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio).
- Proficiency with performing heating/cooling load calculations and equipment selections.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and associated building systems.
- Ability to work both as a team and independently.
- CAD (AutoCAD, BricsCAD).
- 4 years’ experience working in an HVAC design role.
- Proficiency with the following technologies and software:
Qualifications and Education Required:
- Degree in mechanical engineering.
- Eligibile for registeration as a Professional Engineer with the PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario)
Compensation:
- Ten (10) paid days off (sick days).
- Health benefits package after ninety (90) day probationary period, includes dental and vision.
- Three (3) weeks of vacation.
Other:
- Ability to travel easily to jobsites throughout the GTA. This position will be based out of our office located in downtown Toronto.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada.
- Capable of passing an Ontario Contractor Security Screening Check (no criminal record).
