Your New Role
As Energy/Net Zero Carbon Engineer, you will interact directly with clients to provide strategic advice to reach their net zero targets. You will conduct Carbon Zero assessments, energy audits, and retro-commissioning projects. You will also develop comprehensive Net Zero Carbon strategies at both the portfolio and asset levels, drawing on your deep understanding of energy efficiency and sustainable practices. Your role will involve spearheading the creation, evaluation, and execution of dynamic energy efficiency projects and you will review HVAC and BAS systems, systematically identifying energy-saving measures, including low- and no-cost options, to optimize building performance. Your understanding of deep energy retrofits or net zero carbon roadmaps will inform strategic decisions that positively influence building sustainability. You will frequently summarize your observations and findings to create polished, professional reports that provide clear recommendations that align with client objectives. As an expert in energy performance optimization, water efficiency, and sustainability in the built environment, and you will collaborate with peers, partners, the CaGBC, and clients.
What Sets You Apart
The ideal candidate for this position has a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in conducting Energy Audits, Retro-Commissioning, and Net Zero Carbon Audits. A degree in Engineering, Building Sciences, Architecture, and a P.Eng or C.E.M. designation is required. You are proficient in using RETScreen and equivalent tools and hold additional certifications or licenses such as ASHRAE, BEMP, LEED AP, or WELL AP. Exceptional interpersonal skills, including articulate communication, rapid responsiveness, and organization will be essential for fostering relationships, driving collaboration, and delivering impactful results.
