Job Description

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Backend .NET Developer with Azure experience to help our client rebuild a custom web application.


Responsibilities:


  • Utilize .NET Core 6.0 or later to develop a scalable and high-performance web API.
  • Implement Azure SQL database, the primary database management system, for efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Leverage Azure cloud services to integrate the back-end application with the cloud environment, ensuring optimal scalability, reliability, and security.


Requirements:


  • Version Control: Proficiency with Git for version control. Familiarity with branching strategies and pull request workflows.
  • Testing: Experience writing unit tests, integration tests, and using test frameworks like NUnit or xUnit.net. Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Able to analyze and break down complex problems, design and implement optimal solutions.
  • Microservices Architecture: Experience designing and implementing microservices using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Understanding of principles of loose coupling, service discovery, and API gateways.
  • Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in cloud services like Azure or AWS, including services like Azure Functions, App Services, AWS Lambda, S3, EC2, and RDS.
  • Database Management: Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL, as well as NoSQL databases. Able to write optimized queries and understand database schema design.
  • Agile and Scrum: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, participating in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospective meetings.
  • DevOps Skills: Familiarity with CI/CD practices using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or AWS CodePipeline. Understanding of infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Leadership: Experience leading a team, mentoring junior developers, and driving a project from start to finish.
  • Strong Understanding of .NET Framework: Deep knowledge of .NET 6 and up, ASP.NET MVC, and ASP.NET Core. Familiarity with .NET architectural components, including C# programming, class libraries, and APIs. Able to write mature hypermedia-driven REST API’s. 8+ years of experience is preferred.
  • Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
  • Cloud Security: Understanding of secure cloud practices and configurations, such as IAM roles, security groups, encryption, etc. Knowledge of OWASP top 10 and secure coding practices.
  • Web Development: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with frontend libraries/frameworks such as React or Angular.
