Position Overview:
Reporting to the SVP Engineering & Innovation, your core responsibility will be to assist the project team to adhere to provided timelines / deliverables in coordinating the design, construction, commissioning, and closeout of several concurrent district energy projects. You will work closely with stakeholders, developers, world-class consultants, and contractors to deliver unique infrastructure, providing low-carbon heating and cooling to buildings for decades to come.
The projects present a variety of challenges and require a Project Engineer who ensures documentation is maintained throughout the length of the project, communicating plans, actions, risks, and issues with key stakeholders as well as solving any issues that may arise during the project.
You will have the opportunity to be exposed to engineering, commercial, financial, operational and regulatory considerations of projects, as well as be required to communicate and collaborate with sophisticated project stakeholders.

- Ensure standards and requirements are met throughout
- Coordinate construction and commissioning activities
- Responsible for project related risk management duties
- Provide project input for regulatory processes
- Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports for engineering, procurement and construction contracts
- Assign tasks to internal teams, assist with schedule management and with budget preparation
- Work closely with the Project Managers
- Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
- Coordinates with external resources and key stakeholders
- Analyze risks and opportunities
What the company will expect from you:
- Solid time management, organizational and planning skills
- Exceptional collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Experience with public sector projects and utility experience an asset
- Professional Engineer (PEng) or Engineer in Training (EIT) designation
- 4+ years experience project coordinating infrastructure projects in excess of $1MM.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Expertise with project stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of critical objectives
- Mechanical Engineering Degree
- Certification in project management methodologies such as PMP an asset
