MECHANICAL ENGINEEER OPPORTUNITY


Arbios Biotechis a joint venture between advanced recycling technology pioneer Licella, and Canfor, a global leader in the manufacturing of sustainable forest products. Arbios is excited to be developing our first commercial renewable biofuel facility in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada.The Arbios commercial scale facility in Prince George will be known asArbios Biotech Chuntoh Ghuna, which means The Forest Lives.

We are currently seeking aMechanical Engineer.


Working with the construction team through commissioning, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsiblefor the design, testing, and operation of equipment and systems for the Arbios Biotech Chuntoh Ghuna Facility in Prince George, BC.


Duties / Expectations:

  • Facilitate the purchase of appropriate equipment by specifying requirements and assistingProcurement with the purchase of equipment.
  • Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial construction or maintenance.
  • Motivate engineers and other project team members towards superior performance by supportingdaily performance and providing ongoing mentoring and training.
  • Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and designspecifications for machinery and systems.
  • Design and/or redesign existing machines, equipment or systems considering cost, availabilityof materials, strength and maintenance requirements, and impact on the Operators and the environment.
  • Coordinate with vendors and to provide timely resolution of mechanical design and performance issues.
  • Supervise and inspect the installation of mechanical systems.
  • Investigate material and/or mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems,
  • Work with Maintenance to develop maintenance standards, schedules, and programs.
  • Provide oversight to operators and maintenance
  • Analyze performance and vibrations of mechanical systems and structures.


Skills and Experience

  • Root cause analysis and ability to resolve most technical issues in an efficient manner.
  • Materials engineering knowledge is an asset
  • 4 - 8 years of industry related experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills.


Education

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering
