You will be exposed to engineering, commercial, financial, operational and regulatory considerations of projects, as well as communicate and collaborate with sophisticated project stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:
• Working closely with the Project Managers to understand project objectives.
• Taking ownership of the project engineering/design and technical deliverables.
• Management of engineering and other project consultants.
• Developing relationships with our Operations team and continually engaging them in the project development and delivery process.
• Communicating effectively about project risks and issues at multiple levels.
• Liaising with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives.
• Assigning tasks to internal teams, assisting with schedule and risk management and with budget preparation.
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports for engineering, procurement and construction contracts.
• Monitoring project progress and handling any issues that arise.
• Coordinating construction and commissioning activities.
• Providing project input for regulatory processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Mechanical Engineering Degree.
• Professional Engineer (PEng) or Engineer in Training (EIT) designation.
• 6+ years experience in infrastructure or large commercial / institutional building projects in excess of $1MM.
• Expertise with project stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of critical objectives.
• Strong team-spirit and willingness to go the extra mile.
• Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Certification in project management methodologies such as PMP an asset.
• Experience with public sector projects and utility experience an asset.
• Solid time management, organizational and planning skills.
