Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain engineering documents, including drawings in SOLIDWORKS.
• Act as a resource for multiple mechanical engineers working across roles including projects, fixed equipment reliability, and mobile equipment reliability engineering.
• Execute projects by offering project management services and liaising with engineering firms, suppliers, and contractors as necessary.
• Support Technical Services and other engineering projects as needed.
• Provide field engineering support for maintenance projects.
• Interact with all site departments to provide engineered solutions to address identified safety concerns in a timely fashion.
• Ensure compliance with the Ministry of Mines and WorkSafeBC Safety Standards.
• Conduct thorough reviews of internally and externally developed drawings.
• Offer general engineering technical support to operations and maintenance departments for site equipment (mobile and milling).
• Develop budgets, schedules, and plans for key projects.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate members of the Technical Services department.

Qualifications:

• Conducting field reviews in a complex industrial setting.
• 1-5 years of mechanical project management experience in an industrial setting.
• Project management.
• Basic understanding of structural engineering.
• Knowledge, experience, and/or exposure in any of the following areas would be considered an asset:
• Base metals mineral processing and associated milling/mining equipment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Steel fabrication techniques/methods.
• Good working knowledge of all MS Office applications.
• Registered Professional Engineer or Engineer-In-Training with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) in good standing.
• Possess and maintain a valid Canadian driver’s license.
• Computer-assisted drawing programs (SolidWorks).

Requirements:

• A degree in Mechanical or other related Engineering field.
