About The Opportunity
Currently, Westmill is looking for a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Abbotsford, British Columbia. This is an in-office opportunity, however, a hybrid work model could be negotiated for the right candidate.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Laying out and managing requirements and materials for projects
Reviewing old project designs, and identifying designs that could be included in new project designs
Creating work breakdown structures for projects
Reviewing and approving materials and project drawings
Maintaining high-quality design standards for projects and products
Ensuring projects designs are effectively and innovatively meeting client needs and parameters
Tailoring communications regarding technical specifications and updates to different stakeholders groups
About You
To qualify, you must have a degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering and 10+ years of professional experience in a related position. Experience in the Forestry and veneer dryer industry would be considered an asset.
You must also have the following skills and experiences:
Experience running projects with budgets over a million dollars from start to completion
Demonstrated track record of reliability and producing high-quality work
Strong communication in a dynamic team environment and with clients
Knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Smart Sheets
Ability to focus in high-pressure situations
You must also be able to travel throughout North America and internationally, possess a meticulous and detail-oriented mindset, and have a positive can-do attitude with an exemplary work ethic.
You are interested in assisting the growth of the company, increasing efficiency and service, and increasing the effectiveness of the team as a whole.
