An international Engineering company is looking for an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer.
The primary responsibility of the Principal Mechanical Engineer will be to ensure technical outcomes are achieved on all projects, through the development and implementation of new technology, discipline specific systems, procedures and documents.
Key responsibilities:
-Input into Safety in Design reports.
-Comply with applicable legislation, standards, client, third party and other product requirements.
-Technical conformance of all deliverables for nominated discipline.
-Development of discipline team members.
-Represent the company brand and develop client relationships.
-Ensure compliance of design products with the Design Procedure.
-Ensure design products comply with the applicable legislation, standards, client, third party and other product requirements.
-Ensure technical compliance of design products.
-Ensure design products are optimised for constructability, operability and maintainability.
-Provide input into design tenders.
What we’re looking for:
-Relevant tertiary degree (bachelor level or above) from a recognised institution.
-Chartered Professional Engineer.
-Minimum fifteen (15) years’ relevant engineering experience in the resources industry.
-Significant site-based experience during construction and commissioning project phases.
-Solid understanding of statutory and industry regulations and HSE practices.
-Advanced knowledge and practical application of design theories, principles and practices.
-Advanced level of expertise with mechanical engineering technical detail.
-Exceptional planning and organisational skills.
-Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
-Experience with development of technical engineering drawings, schedules, models and general correspondence.
-Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office including Outlook and in the use of design tools such as Excel, knowledge of Visual Basic and macro coding will be advantageous.
