Marketing and Digital Communications Coordinator
Summary:
The Marketing and Digital Communications Coordinator is a key member of the Fund Development team
and plays a vital role in delivering strong, strategic communications for Moorelands Kids in order to grow
our donor base, program participants, and stakeholders, in broadening our reach and impact.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Communications and Stewardship Manager, the Marketing and Digital Communications
Coordinator will contribute to the Strategic Communications Plan. This role will support the overall
Communications Strategy to achieve organizational goals, by developing and executing Marketing
Communications to support fundraising efforts, build brand awareness, drive and execute digital strategies,
and support program registration. Specific to digital strategies, you will execute the digital strategy from
engaging new audiences to stewarding them using best practices in digital outreach to secure donations.
This is a dynamic role that offers the opportunity to build and execute multi-pronged acquisition campaigns,
partner-building programs and donor initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Ongoing development and delivery of Moorelands Kids’ Marketing and Digital Communications Plan
• Support Print Communications and Stewardship Plan
• Develop, execute and maintain the Moorelands Digital Communications strategy
• Establish a Digital Communications Brand Book to build brand awareness across relevant digital
platforms for a variety of constituent bases
• Support the creation and development of various communication materials
• Develop Moorelands Kids’ digital communications content, including website, SEO/SEM, email and
social media campaigns
• Monitor social media feedback and post responses as required
• Digital analysis of communication trends, brand analysis, content impact and engagement
• Create website and social media content
• Update process of data driven data content
• Compile research and reports relating to the communities we serve
• Collaborate in specific fundraising and communications events
• Prepare and update respective marketing and digital budgets and budget projections.
• Liaise with external graphic designers and other agencies to ensure creative assets receive
appropriate approvals and meet scheduled targets
Qualifications:
• Passionate about Marketing and Communications: 3 to 5 years of experience in crafting
communications/web/social media/marketing in an organizational setting
• Strong Writer: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills with experience in
report writing
• Tech-Savvy: Advanced computer skills including Social Media Optimization, WordPress, Pic
Monkey, MailChimp, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong desktop publishing skills a definite asset
• Research Savvy: Strong knowledge of Social Media trends, platforms and audiences with a
demonstrated ability to transfer that knowledge into communications channels for identified
stakeholders in a charity’s environment
• Supervision: Confident in the delegation of tasks within a team dynamic
• Project Manager: Strong project management skills including event management experience and
experience working on events with senior volunteer committees
• Strong Collaborator: Enjoy working with various stakeholders and partners to build campaigns that
build a brand and foster positive partner relations
• Organized: Excellent time management and project management skills, ability to multi-task and
ability to work independently
• Education/Background: Post-secondary education in a related field of marketing and
communications, or the equivalent experience
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a positive approach to daily problem-solving
• Previous non-profit experience and fundraising experience, an asset
