ABOUT CHILD DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE
CDI is a leading children’s mental health agency in the City of Toronto offering a range of services to approximately 3,500 children ages 0‐12, youth ages 13-18 and their families each year. Our mission is to promote and support the healthy development of children and to strengthen the families and communities in which they live. We provide four streams of service to families in need: early intervention, family violence, healthy child development and specialized mental health services for children and youth with learning disabilities.
POSITION SUMMARY
Child Development Institute (CDI) is seeking Manager, Administration Services, to join our dynamic organization. This is a tremendous opportunity for a seasoned manager who wants to contribute to making measurable lifelong impact on the mental health and well-being of children, youth and their families.
Under the direction of the Director, Human Resources, the successful candidate would be responsible for managing the offices and administrative support services for the entire organization, creating a positive staff and client experience.This role will develop, refine and implement a strategic direction for administrative support; including continually reviewing current processes and procedures to ensure service levels are at the highest.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead through effective change management and possess a leadership approach that is consistent with organizational values.The successful candidate will bring a collaborative leadership approach, with the ability to be highly organized and build capacity into the team members, in a multiple service discipline and multiple office environment.
What the role is all about...
- Oversee the overall day-to-day office services and administration of multiple service centers.
- Lead a team of unionized administrative employees.
- Provide high level administrative support (communique, reports, presentations etc.)
- Provide coordination and support across teams
- HR Support functions including, on-boarding, off-boarding and employee events, in support of enhancing employee engagement.
- Lead the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC)
- Monitor and contribute to the develop department budget.
- Back-up and cross-trained on other shared services functions.
- Perform other tasks or projects that may be required to support all facets of the operations.
What we hope you will bring…
- Experience in managing office services in a multiple service discipline and multiple office environment.
- 3-5 years of progressive management experience in in an operations or business administrative role.
- 3-5 years of experience leading a team in unionized environment
- College Diploma, preferably in office administration, business administration or equivalent.
- Experience in the Non-Profit sector.
Skills, Attributes and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work in a respectful manner with groups from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Excellent collaborator and team player.
- Strong knowledge in MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Adobe;
- Strong planning/organizational skills with the ability to be highly flexible and adaptable to manage multiple complex issues independently and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Discretion, judgement, and ability to deal with highly confidential information, sensitive issues, and emotional situations.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication and influencing skills.
- Experience in working with databases and a CRM environment.
- Ability to deal with all levels of management and staff in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, probe, analyze and problem solve issues.
Workplace Environment
- Flexible hours (evenings) to accommodate the organization’s operational needs.
- On-site, in-person from Monday to Friday

Other Requirements
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License (Class G); access to a reliable vehicle with insurance
