Canada Goose is seeking a Manager of Store Design! Under the direction of the Director – Technical Design, the Manager, Store Design is responsible for the design implementation and execution of CG retail stores. You will be providing Design Management support to the Store Development and Design Team to deliver retail store count for each fiscal year.
What You’ll Do:
  • Complete retail store design by collaborating cross functionally to collect feedback, refine design and layouts with external consultants, and obtain final approvals from all cross-functional teams within the organization
  • Actively participate in design coordination meetings and construction meetings to provide directions and resolve any design issues resulting from drawing coordination, site conditions or authorities having jurisdiction
  • Occasional international travel (20-30%)
  • Respond to RFIs during tender phase and construction phase in a timely manner conduct site layout review, Rough in review and design deficiency walk through and inspections (as required), working in conjunction with Construction Managers to ensure accuracy, completeness of the execution and any related site adjustments required in a timely manner for a smooth store opening
  • Review construction documents to ensure all project requirements are met; ensure all details and specifications are all collected and meet Canada Goose design standards (i.e. security, IT, BOH, etc.) and all local applicable codes; review shop drawings from vendors (i.e. millwork contractors, signage manufacturer, etc.) to ensure Canada Goose design intent is being met
  • Act as a key liaison for external consultants to ensure project timelines are met by providing direction for various stages from concept design, design development, construction documents, tender, construction and project closeout
  • Track and monitor project schedule and work with Store Development Manager; connect with suppliers (i.e. fixture manufacturers) and other vendors; obtain proposals for all owners furnished items (OFIs); ensure all project achievements are being met; flag and mitigate risks by communicating to project teams
  • Work in conjunction with the Construction team on pricing analysis, materials sourcing and pricing standardization to ensure on time and on budget completion of projects
  • Contribute to elevating store design by sourcing new construction and store design materials, elevating construction drawings standards, ensure store design is at a world-class level
  • Conduct post-mortem review with cross-functional team, collect feedback and compile lessons learned to ensure project quality control for future projects
Let's Talk About You:
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English
  • Strong customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills
  • 10+ years working in retail in-house environment/ high end luxury retail is preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, MS Office suite
  • A self-starter with validated problem-solving skills and a versatile teammate
  • ARIDO/ NCIDQ registration is preferred or relevant industry experience, i.e. PMP
  • Strong understanding of interior construction detailing and millwork construction
  • Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field is preferred
