Hays Property Team is recruiting for a Property Manager for a Retail portfolio across Toronto.

Your new role

You will be working with a leading Developer and Owner who specialize in all asset classes across Canada. They are very well respected in their space and looking for a Property Manager for a portfolio of 8-10 retail malls and enclosed shopping centres across Toronto. The role of the Property Manager will be the day-to-day management of your portfolio. This is a standalone role involved in the walkthrough, site visits and communication with tenants on a day to day basis with no additional administrative support. The role requires a self-starter individual who has prior experience in Retail Property Management and is comfortable working alone. You will be dealing directly with tenants and contractors on a day to day and also involved in financials inclusive of budgets for the portfolio. The role is a fully remote position, with the expectation to travel to and from sites around 80% of the time (portfolio only in and around Toronto area).

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed as the Property Manager you will have 5+ years of experience in Property Management in a retail setting. Any prior experiences outside of retail wouldn't be considered at this time. You will have a strong understanding of dealing with tenants, site inspections and walkthroughs as well as working with contractors to resolve any issues on a day to day basis. There is an internal team on hand to assist with Accounts Receivable however the rest of the administrative duties relating to the properties would fall under your ownership. You will have a strong financial acumen to work on budgets for your buildings and are happy to travel to properties day to day and be on call for any emergencies. You will provide exceptional customer service and be a solution driven individual.
