Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Activations and Experience, the Retail Marketing Manager will support the Retail Marketing team in the development and execution of all Lindt Chocolate Shop strategies that drive traffic, increase sales conversion and create loyalty with consumers. The individual is responsible for developing insights, finding growth strategies, planning and implementation of marketing plans that will drive profitable growth.


Responsibilities


Strategic Planning:


  • Develop a thorough understanding of internal brand metrics, such as sales and profit, and contribute to sales projections and financial planning.
  • Continuously work with all cross functional teams to plan and execute programs to drive segment growth.
  • Leverage working knowledge of the consumer and brand to continually identify and recommend business-building opportunities and action plans that deliver against Retail marketing objectives.
  • Manage retail marketing calendar tied to Retail Merchandising plans
  • Create relevant marketing plans, by store type, to profitably drive traffic and increase sales
  • Synthesize findings from brand, retail competition, category, customer and consumer analysis to develop key insights and sound strategies to support Retail performance.
  • Assist in the development and execution of the National Retail Marketing promotional calendar


In-Store Consumer Activation:


  • Work closely with the Marketing Communications team to plan, develop and execute Retail specific activations to create meaningful and strategic in store events / activations
  • Manage & optimize in-store signage enhancement project, ensuring optimal and efficient use of all in store signage and communication to strengthen Lindt’s premium position.
  • Work with / brief various agencies partners to activate national promotions
  • Development and execution of secondary packaging from LINDOR and Maître pick and mix
  • Work closely with store managers and regional managers and liaise with Marketing Communications team to ensure smooth activation within the store environment
  • Work closely with the Retail Merchandising team to fully understand the challenges and opportunities that exist in the Retail stores.
  • Bring the Retail vision to life through premium and engaging in store activations
  • Identify stores that require additional support and develop plans with relevant stakeholders to activate and support key national promotions
  • Lead and manage creative execution of Retail store windows (Visual merchandising) tied to Retail promotional calendar on budget and on time.


Regional Marketing:


  • Develop and execute regionally specific marketing campaigns aligned with Store portfolio strategy with focus on priority Lindt Shops to increase sales and profitability
  • Work closely with store managers and regional managers to plan, develop and execute regional promotions
  • Work with media agency to develop sound media plans to support regional marketing promotions
  • Work with / brief various agencies partners to activate regional store marketing promotions
  • Identify store priorities and develop activation plans to support different store types/concepts
  • Work ongoing with Mall Management companies to identify strategic ways to increase awareness and continually drive traffic to mall locations
  • Ensure compliance with mall marketing advertising / support requirements
  • Build plans accordingly based on priority stores / regions that require focused marketing support and


Consumer Insights & Analytics:


  • Analyze and recommend promotional plans with focus on New and Existing consumer base
  • Lead consumer and retailer insight analysis to better plan strategies to drive growth
  • Conduct and present ongoing business review to understand all aspects of the business from financial, market, consumer and trend analysis for continuous growth
  • Leverage research tools and consumer data to recommend insights that drive strategy.
  • Responsible for ongoing reporting of the business and analyzing the segments including all tactics and strategies to ensure effectiveness of programs with possible recommendations for further and incremental growth.


Budget Management & Employee Development:


  • Continuous management of budgets
  • Key Performance Indicators: Maximize ROI on all national and regional marketing programs
  • Work with and help develop Retail Marketing Coordinator through key areas within the Retail portfolio
  • Manage budget based on company strategies and priorities
  • Plan and manage budgets to deliver high engagement with consumers on a regular basis and drive growth with most efficient budget planning.
  • Build strong working relationships within multiple departments and multiple stakeholders to ensure informed and strategic business decisions


Qualifications


  • Motivated to win; shows accountability and commitment to results and is able to obtain optimal results from team and partners through leadership and relationship building
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point
  • Min. 6 years of progressive marketing experience in CPG and/or Retail environment (min. 2 years in a Manager role is ideal)
  • Can handle multiple projects and manage projects quickly with an understanding of company priorities; know-how on what projects need to be prioritized and require a quick turnaround in execution
  • Good relationship skills to liaise with international subsidiaries, headquarters along with internal stakeholders
  • Strong Presentation and negotiation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or other relevant field; MBA is an asset
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Media knowledge, including traditional media, online, offline media
  • Previous retail or marketing experience working in a professional business environment is ideal
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and love a challenge; can adapt to change and work in fast-paced environment.
  • Eager and willing to work as a team to build optimal plans and activations
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently; comfortable with ambiguity but also detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and strategic thinking skills
  • Confident and competent; team lead spirit and able to collaborate with multiple team members
