Job Title: Logistics, Transportation &EDI Coordinator
Reports to: Vice President, Operations
Date: July 2020
Position Summary
Located at our Scarborough facility, the Traffic/EDI Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the movement of goods, services, and information, and control of import/export for national and international transactions are performed in the most cost effective and timely manner. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in EDI processes for large accounts an understand import/export rules and regulations, acts, permits for both commercial and government transactions (NAFTA, INCOTERM 2000, Import and Export Permit Acts, B13 forms, etc.). This role reports directly to the Vice President, Operations.
Major Responsibilities
- Prioritize and coordinate work activities to meet customer demands and special project as required
- Manage inbound and outbound shipments from 3PL in Canada/US/Europe
- Maintain a cooperative, productive work environment
- Work and negotiate with carriers, forwarders, and customs brokers
- Possess exemplary knowledge and understanding of import/export rules and regulations, acts, permits and terms for both commercial and government transactions (NAFTA, INCOTERM 2000, Import and Export Permit Acts, B13 forms, etc.) and be able to advise, implement and follow as required.
- Resolve issues regarding: Freight, Customs and ED
- Respond to difficult and stressful situations in an effective and positive manner
Skills and Experience
- Five years’ experience in a logistics/EDI environment with similar experiences required.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Must be a dependable team player and work well with others in a professional manner
- Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Post-secondary education, preferably in operations/purchasing
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems
- Experience with Accpac is an asset
- Organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Individuals who come from an environment with an ISO mindset would be an asset
