Job Title: Logistics, Transportation and EDI Coordinator

Reports to: Vice President, Operations

Position Summary

Located at our Scarborough facility, the Traffic/EDI Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the movement of goods, services, and information, and control of import/export for national and international transactions are performed in the most cost effective and timely manner. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in EDI processes for large accounts an understand import/export rules and regulations, acts, permits for both commercial and government transactions (NAFTA, INCOTERM 2000, Import and Export Permit Acts, B13 forms, etc.). This role reports directly to the Vice President, Operations.

Major Responsibilities

• Resolve issues regarding: Freight, Customs and ED
• Maintain a cooperative, productive work environment
• Respond to difficult and stressful situations in an effective and positive manner
• Possess advanced knowledge and understanding of import/export rules and regulations, acts, permits and terms for both commercial and government transactions (NAFTA, INCOTERM 2000, Import and Export Permit Acts, B13 forms, etc.) and be able to advise, implement and follow as required.
• Perform transactional and follow through activities to manage all inbound and outbound shipments from 3PL in Canada/US/Europe
• Work and negotiate with carriers, forwarders, and customs brokers
• Respond to commercial request with high sense of urgency
• Prioritize and coordinate work activities to meet customer demands and special project as required

Skills and Experience

• Three to five years’ experience in a logistics/EDI environment with similar experiences required.
• Individuals who come from an environment with an ISO mindset would be an asset
• Organized with exceptional attention to detail
• Must be a dependable team player and work well with others in a professional manner
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems
• Experience with Accpac is an asset
• Strong communication skills, able to influence and explained processes in a detailed manner
• Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, manage and shift priorities to better support team work
• Post-secondary education, preferably in operations/purchasing
