About Us
- Managing shipper/broker/freight forwarder relations as it relates to export/import operations.
- Dispatching and coordinating container movements and bookings.
- Inputting and analyzing data into internal and external systems.
- Serves as primary dispatch coordinator; creates gate passes for, and tracking, both export and import containers; liaises with drayage partners to organize and coordinate container movements.
- Updates and maintains internal operations documents including the Master Document, drayage tracker, and external customer reporting mechanisms.
- Tracks and updates vessel schedules to support booking schedule changes.
- Communicates with export and import customers to ensure shipping instructions are followed including tracking bookings, empty container movements, and load instructions.
- Completes and submits scheduled stakeholder reports promptly.
- Works with management to ensure invoicing reports are accurate and submitted to the corporate finance department.
- Coordinates container yard movements according to the operations plan.
- Assists in planning all inbound/outbound containers and communicates with the operations team about any discrepancies or issues.
- Completes rail billing for both import and export customers.
- Assists the operations team in achieving maximum efficiencies with the daily container plan.
- Tracks, plans, and facilitates lumber phyto inspections with the CFIA for lumber exports.
- Receives and enters incoming export waybills into customer inventories and Navision, including physical monthly inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Communicates with customers daily to receive, report, and execute export bookings before required documentation cut-offs.
- Assists the operations team with any additional data entry requirements.
- Assists in implementing proposed recommendations and SOPs to increase operational efficiencies.
- Creates and sends invoicing reports to accounting departments.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, international trade, or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
- Dispatching experience is desired.
- Positive and outgoing with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication, comprehension, and analytical skills.
- Proven track record of exceptional customer service and professionalism.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrate ability to problem solve, help resolve issues, and evaluate operational performance results.
- Ability to take and execute instructions from superiors and work in an unsupervised position.
- Ability to work effectively in a self-directed capacity and in a team environment.
- Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data.
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure of deadlines in a high-paced environment.
- Some exposure to the outdoors, including heat, cold weather, rain, and noise.
- There will be frequent exposure to heavy equipment that is operating on site.
- This position is located on-site at Quickload Logistics, with standing and/or sitting for the full workday.
- External communication with suppliers, vendors, regulators, and related personnel will be required.
- This position is exposed to rapid changes in operational plans requiring extraordinary communication with stakeholders and customers.
- This position will be customer-facing and will require a high level of professionalism to satisfy customer needs and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
