Transportation Manager Jobs

Position Overview
The Driver Manager at Whistler Connection is responsible for managing a team of drivers and ensuring the smooth operation of the transportation services.
This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships with drivers of diverse backgrounds, and a focus on driver safety. The Driver Manager will work closely with the General Manager and other team members to recruit, train, schedule, and support drivers while complementing the existing team.

Key Responsibilities
Build positive relationships with drivers, fostering a cohesive and inclusive team environment.
Take responsibility for the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new drivers.
Develop and implement driver training programs to ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
Assist the dispatch team to schedule drivers effectively to meet service demands, considering driver availability and skills.
Provide ongoing support and performance management for drivers, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
Promote driver safety and enforce safety protocols to minimise incidents.
Manage driver uniform inventory, including new orders and repairs.
Collaborate with other managers and team members to ensure efficient operations and service delivery.
Assist with subcontractors when training on our systems is required.
Assist in creating shuttle plans and assigning driver shifts.
Maintain accurate records of driver information, schedules, and training records.

Requirements
BC Class 4 (unrestricted) driving licence.
BC Class 2 driving licence or a willingness to obtain it within a year.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to build positive relationships with drivers of diverse backgrounds.
Experience in managing people or working in a fast-paced dispatch environment.
Strong planning, scheduling, and time management skills.
Proficient in using modern software tools, such as Google Workplace.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to work weekends and variable start/finish times with an understanding of seasonal changes in workload subject to business levels.

Not essential, but a plus:
Recruitment experience.
Training experience.
Qualified driving instructor.
Working knowledge of Whistler Connection dispatch software.
