The Valleyfield plant's Human Resources Professional provides functional expertise and leadership to our unionized Valleyfield plant. Specifically, this individual is responsible for executing human resources strategies that enhance the talent and capacity of teams within the plant. This is a unique opportunity to be an HR business partner in a progressive environment that is part of the broader Owens Corning organization. This individual will be a key member of the salaried management team and provide functional HR leadership to ensure a highly motivated workforce and drive business results.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead and Develop Talent
- Manage Labor Relations
- Champion Employee Engagement
- Perform as a collaborative HR Business Partner
- Maintain Human Resource Administration
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Bilingual French and English.
- At least 5 years of experience in a union environment and in collective bargaining.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Kronos an asset.
- At least 5 years of experience as an HR generalist or similar experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Engage and care for others, starting with safety.
- Includes labor law and applicable regulations.
- Desire to continuously learn, develop and expand responsibilities and impact on the organization.
- University degree in human resources management, business, psychology/sociology, or related field.
- Experience with TPM and T&D management
- Strong ability to coach, train and empower team members to meet standards and manage performance gaps when necessary.
- Experience managing positive employee relationships at another institution.
- Has up-to-date professional knowledge of the most effective human resources processes and tools, including performance management, compensation, recruitment, talent development and succession management, for ownership and implementation by executives.
