Job Description
The Senior Level HR Generalist will support our HR department and employees across the United States, Canada, and/or Puerto Rico. This role is a professional level role that is both a strategic and hands-on tactical role including improving organizational effectiveness & design, leading change management, being a business partner and consultant to leaders, managers, and employees coaching and driving HR programs and functional excellence. The Sr. HR Generalist will partner with and advise all levels of Management in the field and in the warehouse in developing and driving organizational design, effectiveness, and leadership development. A successful Sr. HR Generalist will build, adapt, and drive HR programs that are sustainable and simple while providing excellent customer support and motivation while delivering results independently and as a team. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator (written & verbal) and facilitator, self-sufficient; approachable, responsive, results-oriented, proactive, adaptable, dependable, and trustworthy and be a great team leader and player as well as an independent contributor, along with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels of an organization


To be eligible for this position you must be able to communicate in French.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with others to assess, create, and implement appropriate people-focused solutions within the client group.
  • Success in creating and driving effective development, employee relations, retention, and reward programs
  • Provide authentic coaching, consulting, and mentoring to direct reports and client groups.
  • Provides HR management, direction, and leadership to client group
  • Partner with the business on organizational design, workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and skills assessment and development.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Responsible for general knowledge of and monitors legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR such as employment law, labor law, OSHA, EEO, FLSA, ADA, and FMLA
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Listen to and address conflicts, complaints, and concerns; and strive to resolve them in a positive manner that benefits all parties and facilitates healthy work relationships and a supportive workplace atmosphere. Ensure fair and consistent treatment of all employees and document consistent with Company standards.
  • Administer and enforce human resources policies, programs and practices, including planning, organizing, developing, implementing, coordinating, and directing all HR related responsibilities
  • Understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times to ensure a safe work environment
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information and fulfilling transactions as requested and needed
  • Provide guidance, coaching, expertise, and support to managers on all HR related matters; including but not limited to performance counseling, employee relations, workers compensation, safety, compliance, investigations, separations, unemployment hearings, and leave of absences.
  • Act as a supervisor to HR support staff
  • Manage and address various employee relations issues, fairly representing all interests.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and maintains a knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Lead investigations of complaints, issues, or charges (sexual harassment, discrimination, etc.) and work with Senior HR Management in preparation for litigation, compliance audits, etc.
  • Staying up to date with issues and concerns relating to the work environment.
  • Prepare information as requested or required for compliance. Partner with Senior HR management in the implementation of wage and salary structure, pay policies, performance appraisal programs, employee benefit programs and services, and company safety and health programs
  • Review and analyze business metrics including data on retention and employee experience to recommend improvements.
  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Work with management to identify areas of opportunity and develop and implement HR solutions to address these areas.

  • In-depth knowledge of HR concepts, principles, and practices related to HR compliance, employee relations, leave of absences and workers compensation programs
  • Comfortable with executing and performing with a high-volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves"
  • Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment
  • Ability to be proactive in identify problems and driving appropriate solutions


Experience And Credentials


  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • 5+ years’ job-related experience in progressive HR leadership roles with broad knowledge and experience in human resource management.
  • Coaching and consulting skills
  • Project management and execution skills
  • Bachelor’ Degree in Human Resources or related business field or equivalent work experience


This role will report on a hybrid basis to our Corporate Office/ Distribution Center in Woodbridge, ON.
