We are currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist in our Toronto office to oversee CMA Canada and Barnescraig & Associates (also part of the DWF Group).

Responsibilities:
- Performance management - managing probation and year-end review feedback and meetings, ongoing performance management, providing coaching to lawyers on managing the performance of their team, implementing and overseeing performance improvement plans, etc.
- Oversight & support of Payroll/Benefits
- Management of leave process for staff (medical, maternity & other)
- Coordinate succession and workforce planning
- Coordinate and oversee learning and development - identification of team learning and development needs and facilitating the opportunity for team members to have the opportunity to pursue training
- Oversee staff-level compensation and total rewards - determination of salary structures, annual increases, benefits programs, as well as firm perks and programs, based on market intel, team member feedback, WT budget, etc. in conjunction with HR Director
- Oversee all HR aspects for approximately 90 team members in Canada and the US
- Oversight and development of onboarding program & delivery
- Oversee the preparation of verification of employment letters
- Handle of staff member policy inquiries
- Other duties as required
- Address staff workflow issues - volume of work, communication within team, conflicts, etc.
- Manage staff-level team member departures - exit interviews, communication, paperwork and assisting with senior-level departures as needed
- Vacation approval and coordination of coverage where conflicts exist
- Talent management & acquisition – run full recruitment process and team member engagement, etc.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- 5+ years of experience within a HR Generalist or HR Manager role, or equivalent
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Individual should have a high level of initiative and be professional, friendly with a customer focused mind-set.
- Graduate of a Human Resources Diploma or Degree program
- Excellent written, and verbal communication skills.
- Good knowledge of employment/labour laws in Canada & the US
