Job Overview:

The Facilities Coordinator (Canada) is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of Give & Go Canadian facilities and grounds and will provide technical support to the Operations, Maintenance, Health Safety & Environment (HSE), Quality Assurance (QA) and Engineering teams. Assets maintained by the Facilities Coordinator are HVAC, boilers, air compressors & dryers, product storage freezers/coolers, building chillers, wastewater treatment systems, building life safety systems, site utilities, building flooring, lighting, drains, roofing and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Facilities Maintenance Manager in developing building systems

maintenance policies, practices, and procedures

• Identifies and develops plans to address deferred maintenance and renewal of

building systems at Give & Go sites

• Organizes and conducts training to Maintenance for the operation and

maintenance of facilities systems

• Compile and maintains all information and documentation relevant to all completed work
• Obtain quotes from vendors and secure PO approvals
• Travel between sites to perform duties and be available for on-call and emergency call outs as they arise
• Participate in Give & Go health and safety programs and environmental sustainability initiatives
• Compile and maintains all information and documentation relevant to all completed work  Ensure all work is performed in full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), local codes / regulations, Give & Go Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), work instructions and established safety standards
• Works closely and provides technical support to Operations, Maintenance, HSE, QA and Engineering teams on the delivery of capital initiatives and programs
• Troubleshoot, coordinate services to repair, maintain, calibrate, alter/modify and install the following systems with Operations, Maintenance, Health Safety & Environment (HSE), Engineering, external contractors and building owner/landlord: roof mounted HVAC units, boilers, air compressors and dryers, product storage freezers/coolers, ammonia refrigeration systems, Building chillers and associated cooling towers, pumps and valves, Gas fired standalone heaters, Gas fired and electric humidifiers and dehumidifiers, Wastewater treatment systems (Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF)), Building life safety systems (sprinklers, extinguishers, specialized suppression systems, fire alarm, emergency generators), Plumbing (domestic hot and cold water), building roofing and flooring, lighting
• Develop and present proposals to improve reliability and cost savings
• Safely operate facilities systems to provide specified and reliable environmental conditions and utilities to Give & Go production, packaging, warehouse, laboratory, and office areas
• Audits and evaluates the operational effectiveness and preventive maintenance program of building systems in order make continuous improvements

Recipe for Success:

• Required to travel between sites to perform duties and be available for on-call and emergency call outs as they arise
• Possess a strong environment, health and safety mindset.
• Ability to research, learn and gain greater proficiency in applying on-the job – fire, life safety, building codes and standards
• Minimum 3-5 years of facilities and building maintenance experience
• Ability to perform work in a safe manner.  Strong client-service orientation along with a sense of urgency
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancement and repair
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Building Automation systems (BAS)
• Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback and clarification
• High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Experience in operating, maintaining, repair and troubleshooting HVAC, boilers, air compressors, product storage freezers/coolers, chillers and wastewater treatment systems (Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF)) in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food/beverage or consumer packaging
• Valid Class G driver’s license
• Ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings and information
