Enactus Canada is currently operating in a hybrid model, with team members working remotely and in the office 1 to 2 days per week. Please note that the number of on-site dayswillincrease leading up to events and may change as our business needs change. Travel to events and meetings with partnersisrequired.
About the Role
As the Director, Marketing, Communications & Events, you will:
- Provide support to our Partnership Teams and Partners across sponsored programs.
- Develop and review content for a variety of digital and traditional channels ranging from the organization’s annual report, media releases, newsletters, event scripts, stakeholder emails, event and promotional collateral, video scripts and more.
- Provide oversight, guidance and support to our Manager, Events on all event elements.
- Continuously manage and streamline our processes.
- Work closely with our Director, Programs and Director, Partnerships to support each other’s success.
- Work with the leadership team to develop, implement and report on organizational success metrics as it relates to all marketing, communications, and event activities.
- Lead all internal and external communications activities including media relations, thought leadership and sponsorship opportunities working closely with our Partnerships Team who is the first point of contact with our sponsors.
- Develop Strategic Marketing & Communications Plans.
- Manage, coach, and provide mentorship to two direct reports including a Manager, Marketing and Manager, Events.
- Support our reporting functions to internal committees, our global partners, and Enactus Board of Directors.
- Oversee promotion of the organizational brand and all programmatic offerings, this includes budget management and reconciliation.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across Enactus Canada’s annual series of regional and national events. That is, in addition to our showcase Enactus National Competition, Enactus Canada runs several other initiatives, such as our National Challenges and Project Accelerators (topic specific challenges) which are separately funded by our corporate partners.
- Identify, manage and enhance strategic and / or marketing partnerships.
- Identify and manage new awareness opportunities and B2B and B2C growth opportunities.

- The ideal candidate is also bilingual: French/ English.
- Experience using marketing tools including Hootsuite, Meltwater, Constant Contact, WordPress.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- College diploma and/or university undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, or a related discipline.
- Strong leadership skills with a supportive and can-do leadership style.
- Strong relationship-building skills; we’re looking for someone that can confidently work with colleagues at all organizational levels, vendors, partners, and our Board of Directors.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience coaching and leading a team to achieve growth.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Experience with the Enactus program while in college or university is considered a definite asset.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Extensive event management experience.
- Budget management experience.
- Computer savvy in the MS Office line of products and with CRM systems.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in a related environment, with at least two years in a management role leading and inspiring staff to excellence
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.
