YOUR CHALLENGE


Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Integrated Risk Management and Corporate Social Responsibility (ERM and CSR), the Director of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) provides the impetus and vision for CSR. They ensure that it is integrated into the company's processes so that Boralex can achieve its 2025 ambition of being the CSR benchmark for its stakeholders. To do so, they build the overall strategy in this area in collaboration with all jurisdictions where Boralex operates and sets specific objectives. They conduct regulatory and competitive monitoring to ensure that actions align with CSR trends and best practices worldwide. They implement, manage, supervise, and ensure the evolution of Boralex's global CSR strategy and ESG criteria. They ensure the internal deployment of policies and training and the related annual disclosures.


Want to learn more? Your role and responsibilities will include the following:


  • Implement awareness-raising activities for all employees;
  • Prepare reports and assessments, including Boralex's annual CSR report and collaborate on quarterly financial reporting to communicate on ESG issues. Select and respond to external ESG questionnaires requested by our stakeholders;
  • Equip the company's leaders to integrate CSR issues into their strategic decisions and orientations;
  • Collaborate and lead an international internal network and implement the action plan at all levels of the organization through a matrix team and a network of regional CSR leaders;
  • Advise the Regional Business Units in defining and implementing Boralex's CSR strategy in North America, France and the United Kingdom through the execution of the annual action plan. Adapt and evolve this strategy according to national and international trends, regulatory constraints and standards;
  • In collaboration with the public and corporate affairs team, contribute to the company's CSR outreach by disseminating and promoting CSR actions to its target audiences (media interviews, events, speeches, meetings, conferences, etc.).
  • Supervise the work of the Senior Advisor, CSR;
  • Determine the actions, tools, resources and policies required to achieve the set targets in line with the growth strategy and existing policies of the organization;
  • Establish organizational targets and monitor performance indicators on environmental, ethical, social and governance criteria. Lead the annual CSR planning process at the global level, including the definition and management of budgets;
  • Collaborate with the various teams in the organization to integrate CSR into the decision-making tools and analyses required to implement Boralex's strategic plan;


Your Qualifications


  • Excellent ability to work in a matrix team and establish good working relationships;
  • Excellent team management skills and ability to rally others towards common goals;
  • Bilingual (French and English) oral and written with excellent communication skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing bold CSR initiatives;
  • Master's degree in environmental science, administration, engineering, or any other combination of relevant education and experience;
  • Experience in the verification of extra-financial data (an asset);
  • International work experience (an asset).
  • Experience in a public company (an asset);
  • Strategic thinking, creativity, curiosity, attention to detail and quality of work, initiative and autonomy;
  • Experience in the energy sector (an asset);
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in CSR/sustainable development program management;
