Job Description
Who we are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions
of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most
ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue,
and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase
the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead.
That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global
economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of
your career.
About The Team
The Corporate Technology organization provides the internal tools and
services to keep Stripes efficient and productive. We manage Stripe
laptops, company-wide SaaS productivity tools, audio/visual technology,
helpdesk support, corporate networking, systems infrastructure, and
custom software development solutions. Our services are used by every
Stripe, everywhere.
The Program Management team within Corporate Technology is responsible
for the cross-functional strategy, planning, orchestration, and
execution of large-scale CorpTech initiatives. We create and maintain
the structure required to run these programs, and then drive the
execution, partnering with a variety of technical and non-technical
stakeholders from all over Stripe.
We are a small team of generalists who are adaptable and add value fast.
The role is a mix of program, project, and product management. We excel
at maintaining a broad view of our work but diving deep into the details
of a particular initiative when necessary. Though your initial focus
will be managing our Office Buildouts program, you’ll also have
opportunities to drive a wide variety of technical and operational
programs within Corporate Technology.
What you’ll do
Your initial focus in this role will be to own our Office Buildouts
Program, focused on managing the implementation of internal technology
(AV, Networking, and IT Peripherals) in multiple new Stripe offices
simultaneously. At any given time, there are generally 8-10 in-flight
projects happening within the Program, including the construction of new
offices, office moves, and office decommissions. You will own the
end-to-end lifecycle of all projects within this Program, including
intake, planning, roadmapping, and execution.
You will serve as the single point of contact for our key business
stakeholder (the Workplace team), managing planning and execution of the
portfolio roadmap for Office Buildouts. This includes gathering business
requirements, building the technical roadmap, partnering with CorpTech
technical teams to ensure appropriate staffing for on-time delivery,
holding teams accountable to on-time delivery, managing execution of
third-party vendor resources, driving meetings and status updates, and
raising risks when committed timelines/milestones are slipping.
Because demand for Office Buildouts work may vary as Stripe’s hybrid
work strategy evolves, you may have the opportunity to drive other
technical and operational programs in the Corporate Technology space.
Some Example Programs Could Include
  • Automating our account lifecycle processes related to employee onboarding and offboarding
  • Driving initiatives related to our Employee Digital Experience
  • Security, Audit, and Compliance programs
  • Scaling org processes such as our Program Delivery Lifecycle
  • Mergers & Acquisitions (integrating acquired companies’ internal systems with ours)
  • Deprecation and consolidation of low-usage SaaS productivity tools
Responsibilities
  • Effectively set timelines and manage cross-functional project teams to deadlines through the proactive management of blockers, scope, shifting priorities, and risks
  • Drive execution of multiple simultaneous, cross-functional projects and/or programs, initially in the Office Buildouts space
  • Partner with Finance and Strategy to track and manage budgets across multiple programs
  • Propose, refine and implement process improvements and drive efficiencies across Corporate Technology
  • Interface with a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders across Stripe
  • Effectively manage change, shift gears comfortably, decide and act without having the total picture, and handle risk and uncertainty
  • Lead program status reviews and prepare regular stakeholder and executive communications
  • Lead and manage strategic planning sessions and cross-functional prioritization
Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be
considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are
encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a
requirement.
Minimum Requirements
  • Knowledge of how to collect and use data to influence strategy and programs
  • Experience driving cross-functional projects and interfacing with a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn around time-sensitive communications in short order
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex strategic and operational initiatives
  • Experience developing and operating common program management methodologies and frameworks (Agile, OKRs, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to draw energy and support from a wide variety of distinct stakeholders to get things done, create leverage, and mobilize internal advocates
Preferred Qualifications
  • Past experience managing office buildouts
  • Past experience as an engineer or similar technical role
