Our Professional Services team is seeking a Project Management Office Manager (PMO Manager) to assist the Company in exceeding the expectations of new and existing customers from project concept through delivery and installation. As the PMO Manager, you will manage a team of Project Managers and a portfolio of software implementation projects. The ideal candidate has leadership and P&L experience, is comfortable with direct customer contact, is a problem solver, and has experience managing multiple projects with a formal implementation methodology.
This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in Canada and the US.
What your impact will be:
- Advice and assist Project Managers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Empower employees and foster teamwork in problem solving and decision-making.
- Oversee the Project Management team’s documentation and tools.
- Recommend changes to departmental policies and processes to enhance quality, efficiencies, cost benefits, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide updates to business leadership on customer/project status, proactively identifying issues and resolving or escalating as appropriate.
- Manage a portfolio of software implementation projects, with a focus on project execution and revenue delivery, to ensure successful project completion and achievement of Advanced’s Professional Services revenue.
- Manage and supervise the Project Managers by providing clear direction, assessing performance, and identifying development needs and goals.
- Create and manage revenue forecasts for the portfolio of active projects, and expense forecasts for the Project Management team.
- With the Project Managers, ensure that milestones and work in progress are approved according to contract acceptance criteria, invoiced on time, and paid in a timely manner.
- Perform project administration such as approval or routing of expenses, project time entry review, project plan updates, and invoice processing.
- Allocate and manage team resources assigned to projects.
What we are looking for:
- Proven financial acumen experience gained by managing projects valued at 1.5M to 10M.
- Proficient working with MS Suite of products (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Travel availability up to 50% throughout North America. Unrestricted ability to travel internationally (mostly within US, Canada, and Caribbean).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of interfacing effectively with management, staff, and customers.
- 5+ years relevant experience leading enterprise software implementations.
- 2+ years of experience working in a PMO with a formal delivery methodology.
- Experience negotiating resources and deliverables within a matrix organization and with third- party vendors.
- Customer-focused and strong attention to detail.
- Strong problem solving skills. Must be able to analyze information to make independent decisions quickly and effectively.
