Overview Of The Role


Reporting to the Director of IT PMO, you will be responsible for establishing, deploying, and monitoring Project Governance guidelines and controls, project delivery methods and tools. The incumbent will identify improvement of project controls, including cost management, planning, scheduling, project accounting, progress measurement, Deliverables, and project reporting. Governance and adoption of Saputo’s global PMO methods and processes will an important responsibility of the IT Manager, PMO Governance and Controls.


As IT Manager, PMO – Governance and Controls, you will also utilize your expertise in project governance, cost controls, planning, scheduling, communications, and problem solving in a fast-paced, professional environment to mentor, lead and manage a team of PMO analysts and controllers.


How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:


  • Develop, implement, and manage project controls processes, procedures, systems, and tools to enable effective management of schedule, budget, risk, documents, scope, and progress reports.
  • Provide guidance and support to the project management teams on project controls and best practices.
  • Evaluate the current PMO reporting cadence (weekly, monthly, Qrtly) for Project Leads, Portfolio Managers, IT Directors and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners.
  • Develop a PMO Knowledge Base for the Global PMO Processes, Methods, and Tools. Define and document PMO Processes, Project Deliverables with RACI and create golden templates
  • Establish Project Governance guidelines, and oversee adoption of project management methodologies, processes, and tools.
  • Provide project status updates to stakeholders, including senior management, and project teams.
  • Analyze project data, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve project performance.
  • Maintain PMO tools (SharePoint, Project Online, HP ALM, Workplan templates, Timesheets)
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage Project Management Office (PMO) support services


You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated analytical skills in assessing and reviewing business processes to identify options, best practices, and opportunities to improve service delivery.
  • Ability to operate in complex, fast-paced project environment with interdependencies spanning multiple work-streams, teams, business divisions, geographies, time zones, & languages.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, processes, and tools.
  • Expert-level proficiency in MS Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Experience with Power BI is an asset.
  • Ability to adapt and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of IT program financials and accounting.
  • Experience working with global teams, in multiple time zones, an asset.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Accounting or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Extensive use of MS Excel (advanced Excel analytic capability), MS Project Server (ability to create and manage project plans in MS Project), Project Management Software and SharePoint.
  • 7 or more years of progressive and position related work experience in project management and project controls management with experience managing high performance teams.
  • Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized PMP exam preparation curriculum is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team of professionals.
  • Proven experience as an IT Project Controls Manager or similar role.
