Philanthropic Development Director
Permanent position 4-5 days
Auberge Shalom pour femmes (ASPF) is a Jewish community-based centre addressing the needs of all women and children whose lives have been affected by conjugal violence regardless of their backgrounds or religion. We provide a continuum of professional services in both a shelter setting and in an external counselling office.

SCOPE OF THE POSITION
Under the supervision of the Executive Director and in close collaboration with her, the incumbent is responsible for establishing and developing relationships with donors, prospects, and professionals in the field with a view to increasing major gifts to support ASPF programming and sustainability.
In an effort to increase Auberge Shalom's revenues, the Philanthropic Development Director is responsible for developing and identifying new funding opportunities, promoting the organization to philanthropic associations and major donors, and developing strategies to encourage donations and donor loyalty. The incumbent is also responsible for planning, organizing, and coaching her team to ensure the successful completion of diverse fundraising activities.
PRIMARY RESPONSABILITIES
Specific responsibilities of the Philanthropic Development Director include, but are not limited to, the following:
Philanthropic Development
●Contribute to the organization's strategic thinking and development
●Create a comprehensive annual fundraising plan that includes the following strategies:
○ a comprehensive major gifts and donor management strategy
○ a donor stewardship strategy
○ a corporate sponsorship strategy
○ various fundraising activities, including campaigns and events
○ grant opportunities (government, corporate and foundations)
●Establish and maintain excellent relationships with donors, directors, volunteers and the public
●Provide guidance and serve as point-person to the volunteer fundraising committee
●Participate in diverse events to establish and maintain close relationships with potential and current donors
Human resources management and administration
●Facilitate the flow of information and healthy communication within the team and the organization as a whole
●Supervise, coach and manage the employees under her responsibility
●Work closely with the administrative team to revise and implement a seamless system for donation processing, receipting and recognition
●Oversee the tracking of fundraising revenues and budget tracking
●Develop and manage budgets allocated to philanthropic development
●Develop key performance indicators for monitoring and evaluation
QUALIFICATIONS
●Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, marketing communications or other relevant field
●Certificate in philanthropic management (an asset)
●3 to 5 years of professional experience in fundraising, partnership development, networking and development in the non-profit sector
●Bilingual in English and French
●Proven experience and success with planning/execution of events, partnerships and campaigns
●Strong knowledge of principles and techniques relevant to major gift fundraising and stewardship
●Proficient in MS Office Suite and G-suite
●Experience with donor databases (preferably DonorPerfect) and prospect tracking systems
●Familiarity with the philanthropic community of Montreal
●Knowledge of the issue of domestic violence and women’s rights a strong asset
