The rapid growth of OIDI has seen the recent creation of a Business Development team to establish relationships with potential partners across all our activity areas. OIDI has grown particularly rapidly since it was established to meet the needs to students and other stakeholders during the Covid pandemic and we are looking for a talented and committed individual to join the Business Development team, working alongside in OIDI staff, to accelerate the growth in the number of partners OIDI works with and so increase the numbers students benefitting from OIDI programmes.


Job Purpose


Working alongside the Global Commercial Director and the OIDI Academic Partnerships Director, the new Director will be responsible for establishing new relationships and extending existing relationships with educational providers, training organizations, educational agents and other intermediaries, corporate clients, government agencies, influencers and media channels to increase the number of partners recognizing programs and tests offered by OIDI.


As part of this you will effectively communicate the growing accreditation and benchmarked standing of the portfolio, the many student achievements and the demonstrated and evidenced organizational benefits including the unique position of OIDI programs in enabling students in China to progress to academic programs offered overseas and in-country; this exceptional position has recently been extended with the launch of OIDI program in South and South East Asia. In doing so you will reinforce the utility and positive contribution of the Oxford International Digital Institute portfolio for key players in the HE and related sectors and advise on new services and tests to meet the changing needs of HE institutions, their partners and students.


You will use your experience in sales, business development and account management and established networks to meet the annual targets and grow the uptake of OIDI products in terms of both the numbers of organizational users, the number of product recognitions and the numbers of students registered on the programmes/tests.


You will play a key role in implementing a new stakeholder relations strategy and the development of OIDI’s new CRM system.


The role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, including building strong internal and external relationships, communicating clearly and concisely across a diverse set of audiences, and effective negotiation and influencing skills. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, target-driven, and a strong team player with a flexible approach to work. You will have knowledge of the education sector and an established network of contacts within it, which you can utilize to grow awareness of the organization and its portfolio.


You will be expected to meet stakeholders in person across Canada and at industry events as well as to effectively use industry-leading customer relationship management approaches.



Main Duties and Responsibilities


● Working alongside senior stakeholders within OIDI to secure a significant increase in the sign-up of new partners for OIDI programmes and products


● Effectively employ upselling and cross-selling techniques to offer stakeholders and partners the widest range of appropriate OIDI products and services


● To assist in the planning efforts necessary to support the effective incorporation of OIDI programmes as part of partners’ existing approach to language-based access programs based on the post holders understanding of the language capability acquisition process


● Oversee the effective implementation of the programs and ELLT using knowledge of the HE processes and onboarding across all relevant Oxford International teams


● Develop and implement a stakeholder relationship strategy.


● Develop bespoke plans for each partner institution to ensure the achievement of agreed targets and KPIs. Monitoring the pipeline and progress against these targets, and support and develop activity across teams within the organization to meet these objectives.


● Alongside OIDI staff, ensure maintenance of positive relationships with existing partners, including proactively supporting ELLT implementation.

Experience and knowledge


● Significant experience in educational sales in order to hit the ground running and have an immediate impact.

● Excellent understanding of sales and marketing processes in the international education sector

● Excellent knowledge of market trends and the HE market

● Good knowledge of Oxford International’s portfolio of products and partners

● Demonstrable ability to articulate the process of language acquisition in an HE setting and how OIDI products facilitate that

● Ability to present the case for OIDI program recognition in the context of the Oxford International commitment to innovative educational pathways including the embedded colleges jointly established with Universities in the UK, continental Europe and North America
