Invest in Canada is looking for a bilingual Advisor, Corporate Communications who will communicate Invest in Canada’s key messages to both internal and external stakeholders and primarily Canadian audiences. Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Corporate Communications, the individual will be responsible for writing and executing communication plans and for drafting a variety of communications products. The Advisor will identify and suggest new ways to communicate to specific audiences, primarily domestic, and will write a variety of communications texts for the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for this role may include but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor Invest in Canada’s media inbox and respond to media inquiries
- Plan and draft speeches and speaking notes for speaking engagement aimed at a primarily Canadian audience
- Provides communications support to the Corporate team, including drafting and review of ATIPs, OPQs, parliamentary questions and reporting documents, as required
- Plans and drafts communications products aimed at a primarily Canadian audience, including newsletters, articles, blogs, content for IIC’s website aimed at a domestic audience
- Drafts social media products and posts, aimed at a domestic audience.
- Conducts research on topics, trends, and public conversation related to domestic communications objectives
- Writes briefing materials for CEO media interviews
- Draft and executes communications plan for domestic-focused events and investment announcements.
- Draft and executes communications plan for domestic-focused events and investment announcements.
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent organizational skills, project management skills and strong attention to detail.
- Bilingual imperative (French and English).
- Undergraduate degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.
- Ability to represent IIC with stakeholders, partners, agencies, and clients.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to create and execute an aligned strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to write corporate and strategic documents, business development support documents
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in both English and French, including ability to edit for style and length and proofread French and English documents.
