As a Communications Associate at Plastic Bank, you will specialize in creating compelling brand narratives, drafting effective communication materials, and supporting the creation of innovative and engaging content for our social media platforms. The role offers an opportunity to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative global team. Your role will demand a keen understanding of our mission, a knack for storytelling, and a deep commitment to promoting sustainability and recycling efforts. With your contribution, we aim to enhance our brand image and inspire global communities and partners to join the Social Recycling movement, leveraging plastic as currency to end poverty.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update the Content Engine via our Data Asset Management system, ensuring all creative assets and communication materials are organized and current.
• Produce various communication collateral such as newsletters, blogs, web copy, white papers, sustainability reports, press releases, and partner communications materials to help elevate the brand message.
• Develop executive communication social calendars for CEO and Founder, working closely with the executive team.
• Work closely with the Senior Creative Manager and content creators to boost our social media presence and following, with a particular emphasis on TikTok. The role includes creating engaging content, contributing ideas, supporting the execution of content visions, and writing impactful captions.
• Support diverse creative communications campaigns, trade shows, partner initiatives, thought leadership efforts, media relations, and PR activities.

Success factors

• Proven development of highly engaging communication collateral.
• Demonstrated contribution to expanding Plastic Bank's engagement and reach from owned, earned and/or paid media channels.
• Successful creation of mass awareness and potentially viral content that enhances the company's performance and reputation.

Minimum Candidate Requirements:

• 2-3 years of experience in social media, marketing, PR, communications, or agency.
• Based in the Canada
• Experience with multi-channel communications, with a specific focus on social media.
• Skilled copywriter with a passion for storytelling and the ability to craft impactful and empathetic messages.
• Experience in email and blog creation is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (communications, marketing, journalism, or public relations).
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering results within multiple deadlines (agility and grit).
