Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Communications Specialist to join their team in Edmonton. The Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping their communication strategies, managing a team, and fostering impactful relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and insights for content creation.
• Manage and mentor a team of Coordinators, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
• Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
• Create engaging content for various channels, including press releases, social media, website, and internal/external communications.
• Act as a spokesperson for the company when required, representing our brand accurately and professionally.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, stakeholders, and partners to enhance the company's presence in the market.
• Prepare and edit communication materials, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
• Measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed for optimal results.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and creativity.
• Proven experience (10+ years) in a communications role, with a track record of successful strategy development and implementation.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
• Proficiency in using various communication tools and platforms, including social media management tools.
