We are looking for a creative self-starter with highly developed writing skills to join our growing team at CAE Defense & Security as a Marketing and Communications Specialist. A successful candidate will be highly motivated and ready to take ownership of developing communications plans and content that promote our mission and brand. The role of the marketing and communications lead is to strategically create and execute timely, engaging and quality content consistent with our voice. This individual ensures the most impactful communication for employee and customer-facing events, trade media, social media, and strategic growth initiatives. Critical to success in this position is the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders and leadership to support the strategic goals of the international group.

What You Will Do


  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across regions and business units to align messaging and priorities for key initiatives
  • Oversee execution of PR campaigns and programs to drive positive awareness around the company brand and its product offerings
  • Assist in oversight of communications calendar to ensure consistent and comprehensive messaging
  • Research and pursue opportunities to gain recognition as a thought leader, communicating or mission and customer-focused capabilities
  • Successfully engage our customers, partners and industry to elevate brand awareness
  • Maintain quality and consistency across all communications
  • Draft and disseminate high-volume of well-written and strategic external materials to include, press releases, white papers, blogs, articles and social media content
  • Develop talking points, presentation materials and thought leadership platforms for executive speaking engagements
  • Act as a CAE representative at events
  • Work cross-functionally to plan and execute efforts across the globe that advance the company’s narrative, market leadership and industry-leading innovation


About You


  • Minimum 5
  • Highly developed project and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Experience in communications planning and project management
  • Years professional experience in communications roles requiring exceptional written and verbal communication and public relations experience
  • Experience in writing for print publications, web content, social media, and other communication(s) materials
  • Proven experience executing well-written and strategic communications (e.g. press releases, media pitches, Op-Eds, speaking abstracts, award submissions, messaging, and FAQs.)
  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects and meet strict deadlines
  • Canadian Defense Industry or Government experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques
  • Exceptional ability to develop proactive, compelling, and creative communications plans and materials
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Bilingual with excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills in English
