Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)

Oversee and manage the distribution list for the daily media report

Manage relationships with third-party vendors related to media licensing and reporting

Review and manage invoices and assist with contract renewals for third-party vendors

Manage updates to TD external sites, working with colleagues to approve content and article staging

Strong writing skills and comfort creating content for multiple channels

Leadership accountabilities includes performance management in conjunction with the Branch Manager

Knowledge of practices and procedures to assemble and present various types of budget and financial information.

Knowledge of research techniques and legislation and regulations related to areas of responsibility.

Makes decisions related to financial projects that are assigned; decisions relate to planning, information gathering, analysis, timelines, resources, and impact.

Assists in developing short and long-term goals for the department.

Maintains the corporate budget system and ensures this data integrates correctly between budgeting and other financial systems.

Minimum of 3 years of Supervisory/Management experience.

Manages public relations activities including branding and positioning strategies to promote QEC as an innovative energy company

Develops short and long-term communications strategies and materials that align with QEC’s corporate strategy and manage their execution

Minimum 3-5 years of direct progressive experience in the field of public relations, and/or

Public sector experience is an asset.

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Providing communications advice to senior management (defined as director and above).

Leading large communications projects, including budgeting and contract management.

Manage business relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance the communications strategy.

7 years or more of relevant experience.

Previous experience in a public relations firm or agency, considered an asset.

Excellent organizational skills, project management skills and strong attention to detail.

5-7 years of relevant experience.

Primary responsibilities for this role may include but are not limited to the following:

Plan and draft speeches and speaking notes for speaking engagement aimed at a primarily Canadian audience

Draft and executes communications plan for domestic-focused events and investment announcements.

Provides communications support to the Corporate team, including drafting and review of ATIPs, OPQs, parliamentary questions and reporting documents, as required

Strong relationship-building, diplomacy and consultation skills, along with audience needs-assessment capabilities and proven project management skills.

Minimum 15 years of demonstrated communications experience including employee communications, executive communications, external communications, media relations and issues management.

Proven experience consulting with, and writing for, executives and senior management, working with interdisciplinary teams and managing communications processes.

Proven experience leading issues management with internal and external stakeholders including reputational risk management.

Minimum of 5 years leading and coaching a high-performing communications team illustrating demonstrated leadership skills.

Proven experience leading and executing integrated communications and change strategies to support large transformation initiatives.

Assume overall account management responsibilities for our paying partners and ensure our account team is set up for success.

Proactive and collaborative team skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities;

Coach the PR Managers and give them the platform to grow and take ownership of accounts.

Work with the PR Managers to establish the best account split ensuring there is a fair and balanced assignment of accounts.

Manage the process of re-signing existing clients.

Manage the recruitment, selection, orientation and training of staff

Prepare and implement corporate communications and public engagement strategies and plans in support of corporate departments, divisions and initiatives

Lead, coach and oversee performance and development of direct staff reports

Provide guidance, support and direction to staff regarding priorities of the team and the annual work plan

Oversee brand awareness, design and digital communications

Provide recommendations to staff on key messages for media interviews, including advice on issues of a sensitive nature, as required

Strong management and organizational skills with the ability to develop and execute multiplatform communications strategies while managing an account team

Experience managing large scale client engagements independently

Ability to think creatively, approach communications from new angles, and manage both up and down the organization

Education - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Suggest work experience is 14+ years of public relations/corporate communications/media or relevant experience

Serves as a trusted business advisor by influencing client direction, as appropriate, to strengthen long-term relationships

Provide support for the crisis management team;

Effectively and accurately manage general inquiries, media monitoring, media requests, and the distribution of press releases;

1-3 years of experience in a similar position;

Excellent oral and written skills in French and English, including grammar;

Excellent interpersonal skills, diplomacy and the ability to maintain complete discretion;

Past experience in external communications is considered an asset;

Project management skills to plan, manage and execute strategies and undertake post-strategy evaluations and to manage external service providers and vendors

Assessing experience and qualifications of individuals who have not completed an apprenticeship program in Ontario

Establishing apprenticeship programs, including training standards, curriculum standards and certification exams

Issuing Certificates of Qualification in all trades with certifying exams

Renewing Certificates of Qualification in compulsory trades

Manage the corporate communications team members and budget

5+ years of professional experience in communication, preferably on a corporate communications team or within a membership organization

Excellent verbal and written communications skills and a passion for creating engaging communications material

Knowledge of pension plan rules, particularly defined contribution pensions and pension communications is required

Knowledge of current and emerging communications / marketing theories, principles and concepts

French writing and speaking abilities is an asset

Develop understanding of CAAT offerings; evaluate and adjust communications strategies to meet changing regulatory, market, and competitive conditions

2+ years of professional experience in corporate communications discipline; coordinating projects or initiatives with a strong project management function

Proven time management skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to think critically and analytically

French writing and speaking abilities, and pension experience are considered assets

Document and follow process management best practices, ensuring all timelines are met

Excellent verbal and written communications skills and a passion for creating engaging communications material

Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills; able to perform well with minimal supervision

Leverage digital and social marketing expertise, including content development, management of creative asset development, response plans, and community management.

Manage earned media outreach, leading the development of story angles, identifying media targets, effectively pitching stories, and coordinating interviews.

Manage ongoing measurement, tracking and reporting on client activities and results, flagging relevant information to the account team and client.

Post-secondary degree or post-graduate certificate in communications, public relations, journalism, or a similar program, or relevant work experience.

4+ years’ experience in communications roles.

Demonstrated understanding and experience with social media, digital strategies, and media monitoring tools.

Solid time management and interpersonal skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong editing and proofreading abilities

Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proficient at learning new software and technology

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines

Complete daily media monitoring for the Communications team

Provide support at PR events and press conferences for all MLSE brands

Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure with short deadlines

Sound understanding of both proactive and reactive media relations and demonstrated experience working with the with media

Proven reasoning, research, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically

Advanced experience in designing, creating and editing reports, newsletters, brochures, advertisements and other print materials

Building effective internal and external relationships across the Corporation and with stakeholders

Overseeing the City’s social media accounts, including developing and analyzing social media messages and multi-media content and analyzing social media strategies
