The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, is accountable for leading communications strategies for internal and external communications initiatives. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications & Change Enablement, this role will be focused on leading the strategic communications for large-scale, complex initiatives; leading a team of talented communications professionals supporting both internal and external communications and driving thought leadership to ensure we are providing value and strategic counsel to our business stakeholders. This role will also have a direct relationship with our Senior Leadership team in addition to key stakeholders throughout the organization. The world has gone through a period of immense change over the last few years, and this is an exciting opportunity to lead integrated communications strategies as we work to adapt to our customers’ needs in today’s operating environment with a focus on our strategic growth priorities.


Accountabilities:


  • Drive awareness and understanding of our Allstate story as it connects to our growth strategy with internal and external audiences, connecting the dots across the organization and our communications strategies.
  • Develop and implement new processes and procedures, as well as improve existing ones, to continuously raise the bar and drive innovation across all communications activities.
  • Lead and execute integrated communications strategies for large-scale, complex, organization-wide initiatives, collaborating with other functions across the business including Change Enablement.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to senior leadership, including executive messaging, presentations, speaking notes and videos.
  • Lead the Public Relations team as well as internal communications employees supporting special projects. The responsibilities include providing coaching and guidance to help inform our communications strategies and materials as well as our internal processes and approaches.
  • Lead issues management.


Qualifications:


  • Strong relationship-building, diplomacy and consultation skills, along with audience needs-assessment capabilities and proven project management skills.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills and advanced storytelling capabilities, with the ability to connect messaging to our strategy and make complex information easy to understand.
  • Minimum 15 years of demonstrated communications experience including employee communications, executive communications, external communications, media relations and issues management.
  • Proven experience leading issues management with internal and external stakeholders including reputational risk management.
  • Proven experience consulting with, and writing for, executives and senior management, working with interdisciplinary teams and managing communications processes.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks.
  • Proven experience leading and executing integrated communications and change strategies to support large transformation initiatives.
  • Minimum of 5 years leading and coaching a high-performing communications team illustrating demonstrated leadership skills.
