Communications Director / Senior Director - Government

MCG Talent are recruiting for a Communications Director / Senior Director to be based in the Middle East (Bahrain, Riyadh or Dubai).

Our client will offer relocation support.

The level of position is open but requires someone with approximately 8 - 15 years+ experience.

The position will be focused on strategic communications in the government space so will require someone with a background in government and/or political communications.

:

• You will be comfortable working in close partnership as a key consultancy partner, sitting around the table with management consultancies, ministry leadership, other government ministries and senior industry leaders from the private sector.
• You will be responsible for developing strategies related to the Government across UAE and Saudi.
• You will also be comfortable advising smaller clients and helping the junior team manage client expectations and generate compelling results.
• You will be available and hands-on as a senior leader, working on all aspects of the business from HR to business development to strategic client counsel.
• You will be involved as a senior leader in helping to manage and consult top regional clients.

Minimum Qualification

• Track record of elevating client reputations by implementing decisive communications programmes (gulf clients preferable).
• Created campaigns with global impact.
• Has structured work, developed systems and driven implementation.
• Awareness and deep interest for domestic, regional and global current affairs.
• Extensive experience working with directors of communications and/or strategy for government clients.
• Designed, developed and led launch communications programmes for new entities.
• Has developed and provided reputational counsel to clients facing a crisis.
• Can lead and mentor staff through challenging accounts.
• Strong background and at least 7+ years working within a government / political space.
