Director, Content Solutions (Media Monitoring + Intelligence)

We have an opportunity for a Director role to lead our Content Solutions Team.
As a sales leader, you will capitalize on your experience in media monitoring, enterprise sales or account management, public relations, or media intelligence space to build profitable and relevant partnerships. A sales person at heart, you are constantly looking for new ways to package and offer the products and services you sell, exploring new regions, customer types and verticals that can benefit from these products and services. You enjoy engaging with partners and customers, are an expert networker, are comfortable speaking with groups of all sizes, and truly shine when speaking on-stage or at events. You have a supportive leadership style, that provides your direct reports with the coaching and tools necessary to achieve the objectives you set for them, all while driving department and corporate strategic objectives.
In this role, you will:

• Help shape strategy and budget for vertical, with consistent growth objectives
• Participate and/or speak at industry events, trade shows, via webinars and online forums
• Engage with customers, industry bodies and other partners to evaluate potential future product lines / gaps in the market that PressReader may consider filling
• Build proposals, develop financial models, and evaluate new product revenue opportunities with the goal of developing scalable programs with targeted margins
• Be a part of PressReader’s management operations team, engaging in broader product, marketing, content and strategic discussions that enable success across the organization
• Manage existing and future employees in this vertical
• Maintain and grow existing business lines through client management and retention efforts, developing agent networks, and conducting analysis to determine new sales verticals/areas where the existing products and services can be sold successfully
• Evaluate current products and services and explore complimentary (or no-complimentary) lines of business that offer incremental revenue opportunities

You are a great fit if you have:

• At least 2 years demonstrated leadership and team management
• Are an exceptional sales person, who consistently exceeds sales targets, driving incremental revenue from existing customers while creatively seeking out new potential clients
• Experience developing and managing budgets in excess of $1M
• 3-5 years of media monitoring, public relations, enterprise or media intelligence sales experience; or worked in licensing or copyright clearance for a media company or large publisher
• A strategic thinker, quick on your feet, and excel at finding solutions to problems
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Worked well both independently and within a team
• Dynamic, engaging, outgoing, and enjoy networking

Bonus points if you:

• Speak another language, especially German
• Have an MBA
• Have an interest in publishing, media, media intelligence, or the tech sector

This role is a full-time position based in our Richmond, BC office. Working from home is available during the Covid pandemic and we are actively considering and trialing hybrid solutions post-pandemic.
