Our Human-Centered Design team is looking for a self-driven, talented Content Designer to work with and guide the customer experience and digital team on initiatives for our mobile and web products and deliver highly effective, innovative and evidence-based solutions. Collaborating with Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Design you will identify the right problems to solve and be accountable for writing, developing, and optimizing content for a range of digital channels, ensuring it is clear, engaging, creative, thoughtful, and accessible.
Already a highly-skilled and experienced content creator and copywriter, you take pride in the simple, eloquently crafted content you produce, and bring an energy to help others reach the same standards.
Your strong desire to ensure quality, usability, and consistency for Manulife’s wide range of audiences will reach across external-facing digital channels, to include web content, app content, and email marketing content.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy and Planning
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices.
  • Define content objectives, key messages, and personas to guide content creation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop content strategies aligned with business goals and target audience needs.
Content Creation
  • Ensure all content is accurate, consistent, and adheres to brand guidelines and voice.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, videographers, and other team members to create visually appealing and multimedia-rich content.
  • Write compelling copy that effectively communicates brand messaging, product features, and benefits.
  • Develop creative and engaging content across various channels, including websites, social media, email campaigns, blogs, and more.
Content Optimization and Management
  • Manage content calendars, deadlines, and publishing schedules to ensure timely delivery of high-quality content.
  • Monitor content performance using analytics tools and leverage insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Optimize content for SEO and implement keyword strategies to increase organic traffic and improve search engine rankings.
  • Conduct content audits to assess the effectiveness of existing content and make recommendations for improvement.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with marketing, design, and development teams to ensure content aligns with overall marketing campaigns and website design.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather information and insights for content creation.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams regarding content best practices, tone of voice, and messaging.
You’ll Need To Have

  • Experience with graphic design software and multimedia content creation is a plus!
  • Strong understanding of user experience (UX) principles and ability to create content that enhances the user journey.
  • Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and familiarity with SEO principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging and persuasive content for various digital platforms.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a strong command of grammar, syntax, and style.
  • Proficiency in using analytics tools to measure content performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven experience as a Content Designer, Content Writer, or similar role.

Salary & Benefits
The annual base salary for this role is listed below.
Primary Location
Toronto, Ontario
Salary range is expected to be between
$68,775.00 CAD - $114,625.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
