Position Summary:
The Data Infrastructure Manager will architect, develop, and optimize data engineering pipelines necessary for data collection and data analytics. The right candidate will improve and manage the state-of-the-art data systems for data contextualization, and enable data availability for the business, faster troubleshooting, and power advanced modeling and prescriptive analytics. This position empowers the business with well-managed and accurate data to identify patterns, uncover insight and improve process robustness.
Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements to reduce rework, increases efficiencies, and helps to achieve improved level of data systems performance and customer satisfaction.
• Enable Sanofi’s new manufacturing facilities with ready-to-use data access from day one to facilitate timely data-driven decision making.
• Support routine data management needs:
• Collaborate with other sites, global Data Science and Digital teams to identify and implement improvements to existing data systems.
• Support subject matter experts & Data Scientists on process troubleshooting initiatives and ensure optimal data delivery.
• Build automated dashboards for monitoring process performance.
• Support business analytics to ensure automated delivery of pertinent and concise information by eliminating manual and repetitive tasks.
• Manufacturing Support:
• Maintain and improve relevant Sanofi data systems.
• Business System Owner of GxP Data Sources – Shoop Floor Data (SFD):
• In charge of maintaining, debugging, testing, and optimizing current data platforms that support SPC, advanced modeling and prescriptive analytics.
• Perform extraction, transformation and loading data from heterogeneous data sources.

Major Challenges:

• This individual must be able to challenge the status quo and convince the business about the value of data and data analytics.
• Develop and build product-agnostic data engineering solutions to transfer and contextualize data and ensure data gaps are resolved in a timely manner.
• Considering the organization data systems complexity, the right candidate must have a flexible mindset and think of out-of-box solutions to build data infrastructure that must enable the teams to not only access data at their fingertips, but they should be easily scalable to other products.
• The individual must have solid experience with data systems architecture, computer programming, data engineering and process automation.

Dimensions/scope:

• Educate and evangelize data governance and data integrity.
• Lead a group of interns and external contractors, and support them in the daily use of data systems (including debugging production scripts, data pipeline updates, supporting data pull requests, maintenance etc.).
• This position necessitates partnering with different stakeholders to gather business, data and reporting requirements and translate the user/business needs into digital/data solutions.
• Strong customer focus with the ability to remove bottlenecks, reduce duplication, capture tacit knowledge, and generate knowledge articles, make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs with the technical constraints.
• Collaborate with other sites, global Data Science and Digital teams to implement and advocate for advanced data engineering solutions.

Key Requirements:

• Data visualization: Power BI, Tableau, PI Vision, etc.
• 5+ years of experience working with large scale complicated datasets, ETL automation and BI visualization tool.
• Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data, and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Scripting tools: Python, R, SQL, MATLAB and Visual Basic and web-application frameworks (Flask, Django, R Shiny, etc.).
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Apache Airflow, etc.
• Project Management: Lean & Agile practices; user experience management; vendor management.
• Other relevant software: MS office, software for project management for agile activity tracking.
• Experience building and optimizing complex data pipelines, architectures, and datasets.
• Database design/management tools: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL OSIsoft PI system and knowledge of using NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
• Data analysis and modeling tools: MATLAB, SIMCA, and JMP.
• Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, RDS, Redshift and Athena.
• Formal education or certification in computer programming, web-application frameworks and database design/management tools is a plus.
• Transversal skills & competencies (Soft skills): Problem solving; storytelling and technical writing; building partnerships/stakeholder management; transversal collaboration; change management.
• Knowledge/experience in process automation systems, like PLC & DCS, and process data historians (e.g., OSIsoft PI) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Big Data/cloud platforms: AWS and Azure.
• MASc, or BSc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in designing and developing web-based user interface (UIs) & dashboards on Power BI or Tableau platforms for better insights and improved decision making.
