Job Description

Role: Sr. Cloud Infrastructure Analyst

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Duration: 6-12 months

Position Overview:

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Analyst, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing the cloud infrastructure for the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the cloud-based systems and services. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will provide technical expertise, strategic guidance, and support in leveraging cloud technologies to optimize the company's infrastructure and operations. Your in-depth knowledge of cloud platforms, infrastructure architecture, and industry best practices will be essential in driving the organization's cloud transformation and achieving its business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cloud Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Architect and deploy scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions based on business requirements, utilizing cloud services from providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  2. Infrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate the provisioning and configuration of cloud resources.
  3. System Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure the health, performance, and availability of cloud infrastructure components. Continuously analyze and optimize infrastructure resources to achieve cost efficiency and performance improvements.
  4. Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices for cloud infrastructure, including identity and access management, network security, encryption, and vulnerability management. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  5. Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Respond to and resolve infrastructure-related incidents and outages. Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.
  6. Cloud Migration and Integration: Collaborate with application and data teams to plan and execute the migration of on-premises systems and services to the cloud. Integrate cloud infrastructure with existing systems and third-party services.
  7. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Design and implement robust backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions for cloud-based systems, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss in the event of failures.
  8. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure architecture, configurations, and operational procedures. Share knowledge and best practices with the team and other stakeholders.
  9. Cloud Cost Management: Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs, providing recommendations for cost-saving opportunities while maintaining performance and operational requirements.
  10. Technical Leadership and Collaboration: Act as a technical lead and provide guidance to junior team members. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security teams, to drive successful cloud infrastructure initiatives.
