Your Opportunity

BDO Canada requires a fully remote Manager/Sr Manager, Cloud Accounting Operations for our Atlantic practice's Cloud Accounting Services group who will be responsible for providing internal and external technical and accounting support for staff and clients. The incumbent must be able to work within a confidential environment, be flexible and adaptable to multiple requirements of the role and be able to work both independently and within a team environment.

• Effective communication with clients, partners and staff
• Work with local partners to identify target clients/client industries
• Participate in various ad hoc projects.
• Monitor engagement profitability and operational KPIs as defined, address areas of concern
• Provide technical support for both internal bookkeepers and external client users. Applying a strong base of accounting knowledge, the individual will strive to understand user needs, suggest improvements, and highlight best practices
• Coordinate with outsourcing bookkeeping to ensure that support and input provided is in line with BDO Cloud Accounting Services policies and expectations
• Oversee and monitor staff training and certification processes
• Execute testing on new software deployments, including updates and new features
• Act as a liaison between internal end-users and the technology group’s development staff in order to articulate and improve end-user requests
• Scope and price out new client opportunities as they arise and assist with client onboarding
• Assist in the development and delivery of practical business advice for clients
• Collaborate with industry leads nationally to deepen specialty, develop knowledge base, write/support thought leadership, identify opportunities and develop additional resources
• Participate in the design of financial reports in a variety of platforms (Accounting Software, Excel, Power Bi)
• Be creative in developing innovative strategies
• Provide financial technical expertise, recommend, and implement best practices

Your Experience And Education

• Previous experience with accounting software programs such as the, Xero, QuickBooks and/or Sage
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Accounting, Business or Computer Science
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office (including Word and Excel)
• Willingness to take initiative to learn new programs and/or skills as needed
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting (audit or bookkeeping) with emphasis on reporting
