What You’ll Be Doing

This is an exciting time to be joining CIBC’s Infrastructure Technology team. This role will be based in Toronto. We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer, Infrastructure Management who brings experience specifically in working with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

This role is for someone who is passionate about building innovative solutions with new challenges and technologies while making an impact. You will provide technical leadership during the design, build, configuration, implementation and maintenance phases of migrating to the Cloud. You will lead and influence internal partners across the enterprise. You will be challenged to learn and adapt to multiple cloud technologies.

How You’ll Succeed

• Engineering – Lead the evaluation, selection and implementation of new and emerging products and technologies; support the development of business/technology proposals by estimating implementation costs and evaluating options. Facilitate configuration and work with Release Management tools. Provide automation expertise within core automation DevOPS tool chain and orchestration expertise in SSP, Provisioning and Public cloud. Proficiency with tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence, GitHub and Continuous Integration (CI) systems is required.
• Technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in Microsoft's Azure, ARM Templating, Azure DevOps Pipeline implementation of “infrastructure as code”, as well as delivery of Azure Services will also be required. Experience with Azure Firewalls, ExpressRoute & IPSec Tunnels, Virtual WAN, WAF and other network and security components of Azure will be valuable.
• Governance – Proactively contribute to governance initiatives in the development of company policies, audit requirements etc. Provide technical or business guidance to clients within and outside your own department.
• Strong technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in AWS, Organizations, Cloud Formation implementation of “infrastructure as code”, as well as delivery of other AWS Services will be key to your success. Experience with AWS Security Groups and Network ACLs, Direct Connect and other network and security components of AWS will be valuable.
• Leadership & Communication – Collaborate with senior leaders across the company and make informed recommendations to enhance Cloud related solutions. Weigh business needs against technology of offerings, security concerns and provide recommendations which are practical and achievable.
• Technical knowledge in Google Cloud Platform engineering and administration will be an asset.

• You can demonstrate experience in - design, implementation and support of technologies and technology-based solutions dealing with Cloud technologies. Technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in Windows Server, Linux/Unix and Middleware tier is required. Proficiency in Python, Bicep, JSON and PowerShell scripting is a must. Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies is required. AWS, Microsoft, GCP, and ITIL certifications would be considered as assets.
