We’re looking for a Senior IT Ops Engineer to help shape our all-in-one privacy solution and join our mission to show the world that protecting your privacy online can be simple.

The Opportunity

In this role, your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional IT and infrastructure support for all employees. You will work closely with team members at all levels to ensure smooth operations and contribute to the organization's overall success.

You will have the opportunity to take ownership and be responsible for areas that significantly impact DuckDuckGo's internal infrastructure and continuously improve and maintain them over time. This will involve application management tasks such as software updates, licensing, and billing. You will also handle account management responsibilities, including single sign-on (SSO) implementation, provisioning and de-provisioning of accounts, and managing permissions, ensuring everything is secure.

As part of a shared on-call rotation, you will triage and resolve employee support requests as they arise. You will have the opportunity to create automations that enhance the experience for the team and expedite their work processes. Your creativity and ability to find innovative solutions will be highly valued.

You will be expected to review and evaluate standard procedures and practices related to employee support, identifying areas of improvement and implementing changes that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

This role and team are vital to ensuring employees have the necessary support and resources to perform their roles effectively and efficiently.

What You Will Bring

• Ability to remote troubleshoot on Mac OS, Windows, Linux, iPhone, Android, and various applications, including Office.
• Experience managing and supporting cloud and SaaS applications such as Office365 and GSuite.
• Experience with Azure Active Directory and SSO.
• Ability to work efficiently, in an organized manner, and with attention to detail.
• Experience with code as infrastructure (Chef/Ansible/Puppet/Terraform/etc).
• Experience with device management (desktop and mobile), preferably in a remote work environment.
• 7+ years of IT operations experience, preferably in a remote work environment.
• Ability to lead and collaborate on high-impact and complex projects from proposal through post-mortem.
• Intermediate programming ability in a high-level language (Perl/Python/etc).
• Experience and comfort on the Linux command line.
• Passion for helping people and a strong desire to be responsive, proactive, and efficient in addressing support tickets related to devices, hardware, software licensing, and updates.
• Skills to wrangle vague problems, propose innovative solutions, and execute them with a strong focus on metrics.

Compensation

Annual compensation: $170,000 USD and stock options. Compensation is the same within a professional level, regardless of geographic location or functional area, and the compensation for each professional level is transparent across the organization.
