We are in search of a passionate Senior Support Engineer to be responsible for support engineering in providing expertise to our enterprise customers throughout Europe.

Your role

As a Senior Support Engineer you will have to recreate software issues, document them, and find solutions together with our software developers or engineering teams. You collaborate with internal project teams, software engineering teams and customers to ensure that software issues are resolved timely & accurately. Customers rely on you to provide timely, accurate and well communicated solutions to their technical problems.


Ultimately, Senior Support Engineer will be a person our customers trust. Our Support Engineers are key to customer retention.


Your core responsibilities


As a Senior Support Engineer, your key responsibilities include the following:

  • Follow our standard procedures for escalation of issues to the appropriate internal teams
  • Ensure customer issues are understood, reported and driven to resolution
  • Contribute to our 24/7 support schedule
  • Keep the customer informed and updated on the issues
  • Support and assist in the creation and maintaining of knowledge base, self-help, best practices together with our documentation team
  • Working with the customer to resolve technical issues
  • Assisting with the research, diagnostics, troubleshooting and identification of solutions to resolve issues with the Software Defined Mainframe
  • Deliver or contribute to workarounds, best practices for the Software Defined Mainframe platform

Your experience and qualifications


The following technical skills are key for this position:

  • Five or more years of experience of either Linux in an enterprise environment or z/OS.
  • Strong skill set around application support and understanding of C development and Java development.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages used in a Linux environment, especially Python.
  • Master’s degree in information technology or similar, or equivalent work experience.
  • Interest in open-source technology.
  • Knowledge of mainframe programming languages such as COBOL, PL/I and Assembler.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Experienced in technical customer support with international large clients.
