Job scope


  • Work with and support other POD Team members to achieve POD sales targets
  • Responsible for selling all FLS parts, site products and services in the various industries served by the East Canada POD


Your responsibilities


Reporting


  • This postion will report to the Eastern Canada Region Sales Director
  • This postion will be conducting visits to a variety of industrial, mining, coal, iron ore, steel, chemical, pulp/paper, power & oil/gas plants.


Travel


  • Customer visit travel: 60%
  • Successful candidate will be provided company vehicle. Company reimbursement for travel related expenses.
  • Travel, mostly by automobile, to make sales calls and on-site customer visits.
  • Travel will include planned and emergency sales calls throughout the assigned territory.
  • Work time will be:
  • Home office: 40%


Responsibilities


  • Develop comprehensive territory management plan utilizing time management skills to balance administration duties & customer intimacy
  • Work with POD team members to achieve over sales goals for Pod
  • Manage expense account to keep costs in line with budgeted regional target while adhering to defined budget guidelines.
  • Ability to develop value propositions and ROI to help differentiate FLSmidth from our competitors with intent of increasing sales
  • Primary responsibility to schedule sales calls and meet with customers for the purpose of selling site products, aftermarket
  • Establish and manage a strategic plan with various resources to win a given orders, especially for larger/more complex customers.
  • Be front line resource for customer concerns or requests.
  • Visit installation sites to consult with customers on equipment operations, replacement requirements and pending scope of work.
  • Develop strategies to increase wallet share and market penetration, especially for target markets
  • Work with the inside sales team & engineering to Finalize proposals
  • Parts/consumables, rebuilds & modernizations & full complement of service offerings within assigned geographic territory


Qualifications


  • Knowledge of competitor’s equipment to help define value proposition for FLSmidth offering
  • Sales strategies and possess exceptional presentation skills.
  • Engineering B.S. degree in an engineering discipline (Chem E, ME, CE, EE) and 10+ year’s sales background or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be a self-starter and problem-solver who keeps the customers’ best interest at heart.
  • Communicates proactively & regularly with inside sales, engineering and management teams.
  • Ability to read engineering/mechanical drawings, flowsheets and understand various processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Must be competent in account management, territory planning, negotiating T&C’s / Contracts and be able to organize
  • Acquire the latest product information with emphasis on technical advantage industry quality standards, certifications, pricing, and delivery.
