Godspeed Group is currently seeking a Technical Sales Engineer for a manufacturing company located in Ingersoll, Ontario. This is a direct hire role - Business to business sales. You will be on the road the majority of the time so this is a hybrid role, you may need to come to the plant a few times a month, so must be able to travel to Ingersoll as required.
The Technical Sales Engineer will prospect and develop new prospect markets and customers and assess their technical needs, explain details about technical products, place orders, attend sales events and trade shows, collaborate with engineering, and assist in the development of new products to meet or exceed customer requirements.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Conduct training sessions to educate customers.
- Drive and support the sales to confidently promote complex hydraulic engineering solutions.
- Make technical presentations and demonstrate how a product meets client needs.
- Actively engage with the Engineering R&D dept. for new product development as per markets requirements.
- Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
- Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education.
- Approach new markets to promote the comprehensive variety of custom hydraulic products (Cylinders, Rotary unions and Manifold blocks)
- Work on after-sales support services and provide technical back up as required
- Focus on application engineering, which includes engineering design, product integration, system validation and packaging for prospective markets like forestry, construction, agriculture, utility and mining.
- Analyze costs, sales and prepare sales reports.
- Develop long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Education:
- Hydraulic experience required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- European and US travel required
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in engineering technology
- Comfortable working out of the office and traveling for sales meetings
- Good report writing and presentation skills.
- Project Management ability would be an asset.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate/advance Solid Works skills.
- Previous sales experience in manufacturing field required
- Hydraulic experience would be asset.
- Practical working knowledge of GD&T
