The impact you will have:


We are looking for a Senior Associate Support Engineer to join our experienced and highly regarded Managed Services Operations team in Oakville to help support services based around Server Patching. The Engineer will be reporting into our Hybrid IT Infrastructure team and will be primarily focused on applying patches for our managed customers. The role will require a mix of technical excellence, strong communication, customer service skills and IT service management process knowledge.

What you’ll do:


  • Work with clients and customer relationship managers to determine common patch schedules.
  • Ensuring timely resolution of tickets and failed patches are re-scheduled post closure of issues.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills through all levels of communication, incident/problem management, escalation, and resolution activities.
  • Maintain and improve technical documentation associated with supported client environments.
  • Assist in the onboarding for new clients to ensure critical information is gathered to be able to configure systems for patching.
  • Escalate potential problems and client support issues to management or third-party vendors as per SLA contract.
  • Develop checklists and assist in developing best practices and procedures in order to further enhance the patch management process.
  • Stay informed in advances in patching tools, technologies and features.
  • Document, implement and test changes in accordance with Change Management procedures.
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware, and Microsoft security patch installations issues as they arise.
  • Deliver regular reporting for patch compliance.
  • Ensuring patching is getting executed as per defined schedules.


What you’ll bring to the table:


  • French speaking would be an asset.
  • Knowledge or desire to develop skills and knowledge related to server patching as well as Cloud platforms, such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
  • ITIL would be an asset.
  • Experience working within a 24x7 technical support environment.
  • Strong, hands-on experience with Microsoft server patching.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux Server Operating Systems.
  • Experience with Desktop Central and SCCM would be an asset.
  • 5+ years’ experience supporting clients (Internal or external) via phone, email, or desk side.
  • Microsoft Intune experience would be an asset.
