Manager- IT Data Engineer at a glance

The Kraft Heinz Information Technology organization is hiring a Data Engineer Manager who will be responsible for implementing the short and long-term strategies to enable the Data Engineering organization. The individual for this position will be a technical expert providing leadership and expertise in the areas of data architecture- data management- data quality- data governance- and data engineering. They will manage internal stakeholders- facilitate the development and training of data engineers within projects- as well as provide hands-on design and development of platform capabilities.

What's on the menu?

• Lead the development and training of all project data engineering resources
• Leverages monitoring tools/processes to ensure platform stability and operational SLAs
• Acts as a data owner and functional data SME for the assigned area
• Enforces best practices for software design- architecture- and implementation
• Contribute to generic frameworks for data ingestion- data processing- and data integrations
• Extends DevOps capabilities for deploying data solutions
• Supports creation and adoption of data assets for the organization
• Works with senior executives to address or prevent common pitfalls
• Develop and operate modern data architecture approaches to meet key business objectives and provide end-to-end data solutions

• I have hands-on experience with DevOps and CI/CD processes
• I have strong design and software programming development (core Python – not just Pyspark or adhoc scripting)
• I have experience building APIs (experience with GraphQL is a plus)
• I have automated code testing experience
• I have experience with analytical tools & services (preferably dbt- Snowflake/BigQuery- Tableau/PowerBI)
• I have strong SQL development and analytical skills
• I have experience with cloud services within Azure- AWS- or GCP platforms
• I have experience in role delivering and supporting software and data engineering capabilities.
